Rickey Lime
Rickey Lime (born Anna Goodling August 20, 1980) is an American guitarist who is best known for her bands Shotgun Won and the Los Angeles-based rock band Scarling. History Anna Goodling grew up in Cottage Grove, Oregon, but spent much of her time in Portland and the surrounding areas. In the mid-1990s, she changed her name to Rickey Lime (a pun on the cocktail called a Lime Rickey) and began playing guitar. She was looking for other women who wanted to start a rock band, and found them after relocating to Olympia, Washington where she attended Evergreen State College. There, she formed Shotgun Won in 1998. The band consisted of Lime on guitar, Erin McCarley on drums, vocalist Amber Bayer, and Kelly Chambers on bass. After moving to Los Angeles, Lime joined Scarling. in 2003 as a guitarist. Cottage Grove, Oregon
Cottage Grove is a city in Lane County, Oregon, United States. Its population was 10,643 at the 2020 census. It is the third largest city in Lane County. It is on Interstate 5, Oregon Route 99, and the main Willamette Valley line of the CORP railroad. History Cottage Grove post office was established in 1855 east of present-day Creswell. It was named by its first postmaster, G. C. Pearce, whose home was in an oak grove. In 1861, the office was moved to the present site of Saginaw; then in the late 1860s, to the southwestern-most part of present-day Cottage Grove, on the west bank of the Coast Fork Willamette River. When the Southern Pacific railroad was built through the area in the 1870s, Cottage Grove station was placed more than half a mile northeast of the post office, on the river's east side. So Long, Scarecrow
''So Long, Scarecrow'' is the second and final studio album by the rock band Scarling. Written and recorded in early 2005, and released on October 25, 2005. It is Scarling.'s only album to feature drummer Beth Gordon. Its title is a reference to '' The Wizard of Oz'': in lead vocalist Jessicka's view, the film's Scarecrow is a metaphor for the band itself; the character's initial lack of and search for a brain, she explains, parallels Scarling.'s search for new territory in a predictable and monotonous musical environment. The album was preceded by the single "We Are the Music Makers," a split 7-inch with The Willowz, and has been reissued on vinyl by Sympathy for the Record Industry with alternative cover artwork by Mark Ryden. Kill Rock Stars
Kill Rock Stars is an independent record label founded in 1991 by Slim Moon and Tinuviel Sampson, and based in both Olympia, Washington, and Portland, Oregon. The label has released a variety of work in different genres, but was originally known for its commitment to underground punk rock bands and the Olympia area music scene. History Sampson and Moon initially started the label because, in Moon's words, "I just wanted to put out my friends' records because nobody was putting out my friends' records. And to put out spoken word 7-inch records." KRS-101 (the label's first release) was in fact a split 7-inch spoken-word record with Kathleen Hanna and Slim Moon; other "Wordcore" releases followed.
