Motörhead
Motörhead () were an English rock band formed in London in 1975 by Lemmy (lead vocals, bass), Larry Wallis (guitar) and Lucas Fox (drums). Lemmy was also the primary songwriter and only constant member. The band are often considered a precursor to the new wave of British heavy metal, which re-energised heavy metal in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Though several guitarists and drummers have played in Motörhead, most of their best-selling albums and singles feature drummer Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor and guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke. Motörhead released 23 studio albums, 10 live recordings, 12 compilation albums and five EPs over a career spanning 40 years. "No Class" is a song by the British heavy metal band Motörhead. It was released in 1979 in 7" vinyl pressings. The song first appeared on the 1979 album '' Overkill'', and became one of the "cornerstones" of the classic 1981 live album ''No Sleep 'til Hammersmith''. It is one of the band's "anthems". "Overkill" is a song by English rock band Motörhead. It was released in 7" and 12" vinyl pressings in 1979. It is backed with A-side and B-side, B-side "Too Late Too Late" which appears on the CD re-issues of the ''Overkill (Motörhead album), Overkill'' album. Early copies came with an "Overkill" badge. The single reached number 39 on the UK Singles Chart. On 9 March 1979, the band played this song on the BBC TV show ''Top of the Pops'' to support the release of the single. Overview Initially issued as a 7" vinyl single on 27 October 1980 as a preview to the album ''Ace of Spades'' and autumn tour, the song was also released by Bronze Records as a 12" vinyl pressing in special Christmas picture sleeves, limited to 50,000 copies. The picture of the band in Santa outfits used on the cover was taken at the Aylesbury Fair, while the band were on tour. Bronze also issued German and Spanish 7" vinyl versions which had a different sleeves, as well as a Japanese release, with a colour picture insert with song lyrics in English and Japanese. ''Iron Fist'' is the fifth studio album by English Rock music, rock band Motörhead, released in April 1982 by Bronze Records. It was the final album of the classic Three Amigos lineup of Lemmy Kilmister, Eddie Clarke (musician), "Fast" Eddie Clarke, and Phil Taylor (musician), Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor. "Iron Fist" is a song by the British heavy metal band Motörhead. It was released as a single in 1982, in 7" pressings in blue, black and translucent red vinyl. The title track on the single is covered with ( B-side's) "Remember Me, I'm Gone", which appears on CD re-issues of the '' Iron Fist'' album. In Spain, the title track was put on the B-side of "Go to Hell" and was issued with a picture sleeve of the band dressed as warriors in skull masks. This is the last single featuring the classic Motörhead line-up of Lemmy, "Fast" Eddie Clarke and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor, as Clarke left following the recording of the '' Stand By Your Man EP''. The album provides an overview of the band's time with Bronze Records and also includes four newly recorded tracks. "Killed by Death" is a song by the English heavy metal band Motörhead. Released in 1984, in 7" and 12" vinyl pressings. It peaked at number 51 in the UK Singles Chart. Promotion To assist its promotion in the United States, Bronze/Island pressed a 12" promo version for radio play (identical versions on both sides). It is one of the most difficult to find of all Motörhead items. There is also a video made for the track, directed by the manager of the Plasmatics, Rod Swenson, which was banned by MTV for "excessive and senseless violence". "Eat the Rich" is a song by British Rock 'N' Roll band Motörhead. It was released as a single in 1987, in 7" and 12" vinyl pressings. Both formats featured the b-side "Cradle to the Grave", and the 12" also included "Just 'Cos You Got the Power". ''Sacrifice'' is the twelfth studio album by British Rock music, rock band Motörhead. It was released on 27 March 1995 via SPV GmbH, SPV/Steamhammer, the band's first release on the label. ''1916'' is the ninth studio album by British rock band Motörhead, released in January 1991. It was their first on WTG Records. The single "The One to Sing the Blues" peaked at number 45. The album was the final Motörhead album to feature Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor on drums in its entirety. Background In 1990, Motörhead frontman Lemmy moved from England to the U.S., settling in West Hollywood within walking distance of the Rainbow Bar and Grill. With Phil Carson managing the band, the sessions for what would become the album ''1916'' began with Ed Stasium, best known for producing the Ramones, Talking Heads, and Living Colour.
