Staff Band Of The Bundeswehr
The Staff Band of the Bundeswehr (german: Stabsmusikkorps der Bundeswehr) is the main representative brass band of the Bundeswehr, stationed in Berlin. It works together with the Wachbataillon in the Berlin Garrison Command, having responsibility for protocol during state receptions of the President of Germany, Federal President, Chancellor of Germany, Chancellor and the Minister of Defence (Germany), Minister of Defense. The band is responsible for performing pieces such as the anthems of foreign countries as well as the ''Preussischer Präsentiermarsch'' during arrival honors ceremonies for visits by foreign leaders to Germany. Helmut Schmidt
Helmut Heinrich Waldemar Schmidt (; 23 December 1918 – 10 November 2015) was a German politician and member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), who served as the chancellor of West Germany from 1974 to 1982. Before becoming Chancellor, he served as the minister of defence (1969–1972) and the minister of finance (1972–1974) in the government of Willy Brandt. In the latter role he gained credit for his financial policies. He had also briefly been Minister of Economics and as acting Foreign Minister. As Chancellor, he focused on international affairs, seeking "political unification of Europe in partnership with the United States" and issuing proposals that led to the NATO Double-Track Decision in 1979 to deploy US Pershing II missiles to Europe. Rheinbach is a town in the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis district (Landkreis), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It belongs to the administrative district (Regierungsbezirk) of Cologne. The Military Music Service of the National People's Army (Militärischer Musikdienst der Nationale Volksarmee in German) was made up of the Military Bands of the ''Nationale Volksarmee'' and the Corps of Drums of the Military Music Service. Military Bands Of The Bundeswehr
There are 15 military bands of the Bundeswehr, including those of the German Army, Air Force, Navy, and joint bands. Before 2009, the military musicians of the Bundeswehr constituted a joint specialist service, the Military Music Service (german: Militärmusikdienst), subordinate to the Armed Forces Office (german: Streitkräfteamt). In 2009, as part of a larger reorganisation of the Bundeswehr, the organization of the Military Music Service was replaced by the new Military Music Center of the Bundeswehr (german: Zentrum Militärmusik der Bundeswehr) in Bonn, and several bands were disbanded. Army Band Hannover
The Army Band Hannover (german: Heeresmusikkorps Hannover) is a musical band unit of the German Army based in Hannover, Lower Saxony. Description It was established as Musikkorps II A on July 1, 1956. Its founding came at a time when military bands of East Germany and West Germany were being founded, with then-Chancellor Konrad Adenauer of West Germany placing significant importance to the founding of similar army bands during the development period of the German Heer. It later on was given the name "Army Band 1" in 1959, following its joining with the 1st Panzer Division that year. A military band is a group of personnel that performs musical duties for military functions, usually for the armed forces. A typical military band consists mostly of wind and percussion instruments. The conductor of a band commonly bears the title of Bandmaster or Director of Music. Ottoman military bands are thought to be the oldest variety of military marching bands in the world, dating from the 13th century. The military band is capable of playing ceremonial and marching music, including the national anthems and patriotic songs of not only their own nation but others as well, both while stationary and as a marching band.
