Stadio Vanni Sanna (formerly known as Stadio Acquedotto) is a multi-use stadium in Sassari, Italy. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and is the home ground of Sassari Torres, S.E.F. Torres 1903 and U.S.D. Latte Dolce. The stadium holds 12,000. History Its first name was "Torres stadium", changed in the seventies to "Acquedotto stadium". On 22 August 2001 it changed its name and was named after Giovanni Sanna, a footballer originally from Alghero who in his career played in Torres 1903 first as a player, then as a coach and sports director. Palasport Roberta Serradimigni, commonly known as PalaSerradimigni, is a multi-use indoor sporting arena that is located in Sassari, Sardinia, Italy. The arena can be used to host basketball, volleyball, and handball games. The current seating capacity of the arena for basketball games is 5,000. History PalaSerradimigni was officially opened in 1981. The arena originally had a seating capacity of 2,500. In 1992, the seating capacity of the arena was increased to 4,532. In 2005, the arena's parquet flooring was updated and replaced. In 2006, the arena was named after Roberta Serradimigni, who died in a car accident at the age of 32, and who is considered to be one of the best basketball players from Sardinia. The Strada statale 131 (SS 131), is the major road in Sardinia, Italy. It is a freeway that connects the towns of Porto Torres and Cagliari via Sassari, Macomer and Oristano. At 229 km, it is considered the "spinal cord" of Sardinia. It is a part of the E25 European route. History Building works begun in the 19th century, under the Kingdom of Charles Felix of Sardinia, the road followed the route of the ancient Roman road Turris Lybissonis-Caralis. Sassari is the main railway station in the Italian city of Sassari, the second largest city of Sardinia. It is owned jointly by the ''Ferrovie dello Stato'' (FS), the national rail company of Italy, and the '' Ferrovie della Sardegna'' (FdS). History The station opened in 1884, when the FS line from Cagliari was completed. In 1888 it became the terminal of the FdS Sassari–Alghero line. Tazenda
Tazenda is a Sardinian ethnic pop-rock band. The group was formed in Sardinia in 1988 by Andrea Parodi, Gigi Camedda and Gino Marielli. The group's music is characterized by the influence from traditional Sardinian music; the lyrics of most of its songs are in Sardinian language (especially in its Logudorese dialectal variety) rather than Italian. The name of the band was taken from Second Foundation, a novel of the Foundation series by Isaac Asimov. In the novel the planet "Tazenda" (the name of which comes from the English expression "Star's End") plays an important role. The choice, according to Tazenda, of this name was because of an assonance with their own language. Giuseppe Daniele (19 March 1955 – 4 January 2015), known as Pino Daniele, was an Italian singer, songwriter and musician. His influences covered a wide number of genres, including pop, blues, jazz, and Italian and Middle Eastern music. A self-taught guitarist, he began his career as a musician playing for other successful singers of the 1970s.
