St. Xavier's College, Ranchi is an Autonomous College affiliated to Ranchi University. It is located in the Indian state of Jharkhand. It was founded in 1944 by the Patna province of the Society of Jesus, a Catholic religious order that traces its origin to St. Ignatius of Loyola in 1540. Jharkhand Academic Council
Jharkhand Academic Council (abbreviated as JAC), is a state government agency responsible for academic administration in the state of Jharkhand, India. The agency is amended to supervise the government recognized academic institutions, including primary and higher secondary schools. It was established by the government of Jharkhand after the enactment of the ''Jharkhand Academic Council Act, 2003'' by the state legislature and governor. Gymkhana () ( ur, جِمخانہ, sd, جمخانه, hi, जिमख़ाना, as, জিমখানা, bn, জিমখানা) is a British Raj term which originally referred to a place of assembly. The meaning then altered to denote a place where skill-based contests were held. "Gymkhana" is an Anglo-Indian expression, which is derived from the Persian word "'' Jamat-khana''".
