St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School is a mixed Catholic secondary school in Kings Norton, Birmingham, England. The school, which is part of the Birmingham Catholic Partnership, consists of key stage three (Yr 7 and 8), key stage four (years 9 to 11) and a sixth form. The sixth form provision is offered as part of Oaks Sixth Form College, a consortium of 7 secondary schools in South-West Birmingham. An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. Darren Bradley
Darren Michael Bradley (born 24 November 1965) is an English former professional footballer, who played as a midfielder for Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion and Walsall. He also represented England at youth level. Aston Villa Darren first came to notice to Villa scouts while at secondary school in Kings Norton, before signing for the Villans as an apprentice in 1983. Darren went on to break into the first team at Villa, making 20 appearances. West Bromwich Albion Darren moved to The Hawthorns on 14 March 1986, in a deal that saw Stephen Hunt move in the opposite direction. He went on to spend the majority of his career at West Brom, becoming the captain of the club. Gavin Mahon
Gavin Andrew Mahon (born 2 January 1977) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. Mahon started his career as a trainee at Wolverhampton Wanderers, although he did not make any first-team appearances for the club. In July 1996, he joined Hereford United on a free transfer, and went on to play two-and-a-half years of regular first-team football. Mahon signed for Brentford in November 1998, for a fee that increased to £130,000. He helped the club earn promotion from Division Three during the 1998–99 season, and made 166 appearances for the west London club. Primal Scream
Primal Scream are a Scottish rock band originally formed in 1982 in Glasgow by Bobby Gillespie (vocals) and Jim Beattie. The band's current lineup consists of Gillespie, Andrew Innes (guitar), Simone Butler (bass), and Darrin Mooney (drums). Barrie Cadogan has toured and recorded with the band since 2006 as a replacement after the departure of guitarist Robert "Throb" Young. Primal Scream had been performing live from 1982 to 1984, but their career did not take off until Gillespie left his position as drummer of The Jesus and Mary Chain. Martin Bernard Duffy (18 May 1967 – 18 December 2022) was an English musician who originally played keyboards with Felt (band), Felt and most famously with Primal Scream. Career Duffy was born in Birmingham and grew up in Rednal in the south of the city, attending St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School, Birmingham, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School in King's Norton, and growing up listening to punk rock, as well as Two-tone (music genre), two-tone, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin.
