St. Albert's HSS, Ernakulam
St. Albert's HSS (St. Albert's Higher Secondary School) is a boys school at Banerji Road in Kochi, India. It was popularly known as St. Albert's High School till 1998, when it was upgraded to a higher secondary school. It is the oldest boys school in Kochi. It has 1800 students and 85 teachers and non teaching staff on a campus. History St. Albert's School was established by Fr. Candidus, an Italian missionary with the permission of Archdiocese of Verapoly with 31 students on 1 February 1892. The land was donated by Maharaja of Cochin and it was known as 'Thumbaparambu' for the local people, as it was full of 'Thumba' (Leucas aspera). In 1896, the school was upgraded into Lower Secondary School. In 1897, two Gothic styled buildings were constructed and it became an important landmark in Kochi city. Banerji Road
Banerji Road is one of the major arteries of downtown Kochi, in the Kerala, state of Kerala, India. It lies east-west between the ''High-Court Junction'' (Marine Drive, Kochi, Marine Drive) in the west, and Ernakulam North in the east. It passed through North Overbridge near Ernakulam Town, Ernakulam North railway station. It is named after Albion Rajkumar Banerji, Sir A. R. Banerji, former diwan of the Kingdom of Cochin. Ponjikkara Rafi
Joseph Raphael (12 April 1924 – 6 September 1992), better identified as Ponjikkara Rafi, was an Indian essayist, playwright, short story writer and a novelist of Malayalam literature. His oeuvre consists of short story anthologies, novels, philosophical works and screenplays but he is best remembered for two novels, ''Daivadhoothan'', regarded as the first Malayalam novel written in stream of consciousness narrative style, and ''Ora Pro Nobis'', a historical novel based on the Dutch colonial rule. Tini Tom is an Indian actor, comedian and mimicry artist from Kerala. He works in Malayalam films and television. Early life Tini was born in North Paravoor, Kerala, India. His father Tomy T.D. is an engineer. He has a sister Tincy. M. L. Varghese (1960 – 3 February 2011), popularly known by stage name Machan Varghese, was a Malayalam film actor and mimicry artist. He started his career as a mimicry artist in Kalabhavan (house of arts) and debuted as an actor through ''Kabooliwala''. Sebastian Paul (born 1 May 1947) was a member of Parliament, representing Ernakulam in the 14th Lok Sabha. Political life Paul made his electoral debut in the 1997 Lok Sabha by-election in Ernakulam when he defeated Antony Isaac of Indian National Congress (INC).
