''Ssa2'' ( ko, 싸2; ko, 싸이2) is the second album by South Korean singer Psy, released on January 16, 2002. The album contains 14 songs and was later released worldwide through iTunes. Commercially, the album had sold nearly 74,000 copies by the end of 2002 and was the 76th best-selling album of the year in South Korea. Release and controversy After the controversy which surrounded the release of his first album ''Psy from the Psycho World!'' in early 2001, and being fined for explicit content, this second album's release at the beginning of 2002 followed in its footsteps. In November 15, 2001, he was arrested for smoking marijuana, ordered to pay 10,000,000 won for his bail and heavy fine of 500,000 won, and spent 25 days in jail. He responded by writing songs about the controversies and government censors complained about the "defiant and obscene lyrics" on his second album. ''Psy from the Psycho World!'' is the debut album by South Korean singer Psy. The album was released on February 12, 2001. The album contains 19 songs. Track 11 "I Love Sex" is a re-make of Lee Jung-hyun's song "I Love X", featured on her debut album '' Let's Go to My Star''. The album was also released worldwide through iTunes. Release and controversy The full-length debut album is of the rap genre with songs such as "I Love Sex" that include candid lyrics. The title of the album refers to his stage name, a derivative of "psycho", and the album was made just after he attended Berklee College of Music and had returned to South Korea. On his choice of music, he listed rappers Eminem, 2Pac, Jay Z, and Dr. Dre as his musical influences. ''3 Mai'' ( ko, 3마이) is the third album by South Korean singer Psy. The album was released on September 19, 2002, and was also released worldwide through iTunes. It contains 15 songs. Release and success of title track The third album was released in September 2002 with a launch on an internet music site. The title of the album "3 mai" means cheap. Unlike his previous albums, the lyrics were less explicit. Regarding the change, Psy commented that "3mai was intended as a project for taking a break, however, it should not be intended as a change of my personality." Lee Sun-hee, Kim Wan-sun, Park mi kyung, and Lee Jae-hoon of Cool featured in the album as vocals, as well as Park Jae-Eun, Psy's older sister. The song "Royal Family" aims to criticize Korean marriage agencies which arrange meetings based on their academic credentials and wealth. Korean ( South Korean: , ''hangugeo''; North Korean: , ''chosŏnmal'') is the native language for about 80 million people, mostly of Korean descent. List Of Number-one Albums In South Korea (1998–2008)
Between August 1998 and September 2008, the Recording Industry Association of Korea (RIAK) and the Music Industry Association of Korea (MIAK) published a monthly record chart, ranking the best-selling CDs and cassettes within South Korea. At least 100 albums and two singles have topped the chart during the course of its existence. In early 1998, South Korea's National Tax Service decided that the music industry should be more transparent. The Korean Video Record Association decided in a meeting held on July 23, 1998, that record sales should be tracked and released on a monthly basis. The record labels had to submit the sales of an album up to six months after its release. The data had to be submitted until the 7th of every month and was released by the RIAK on the 10th. Yoo Gun-hyung
Yoo Gun-hyung (Hangul: 유건형; born February 14, 1979) is a South Korean recording artist and record producer, best known for his work with PSY, and, in particular, their international hit Gangnam Style. Biography Yoo Gun-Hyung was introduced to the world of K-pop in 1996 as one-half (along with Suh Jung-Hwan) of the Korean hip hop duo ''Untitle.'' Yoo and Suh were both still in high school, and gained particular recognition in the Korean music industry because they were already writing their own songs. Their second album, entitled ''The Blue Color'' was released in 1997. Untitle disbanded in 1999. Yoo's collaboration with PSY goes back at least to 2006, with Yoo writing music and PSY writing lyrics for songs on the 2006 album ''PSY – We Are The One''. Park Ji-yoon (Hangul: 박지윤; Hanja: 朴志胤; born January 3, 1982) is a South Korean singer, actress, and model.
