Sri Rajangam
Sri Rajangam Iyer (1903 - 1948) was one of the first native Indian engineering managers of the South Indian Railway Company of British India. Sri Rajangam was the deputy Chief mechanical engineer of South Indian Railways (SIR). He was the first native Indian to become the works manager of Golden Rock Railway Workshop, situated in Ponmalai (Golden Rock), Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu. Even his immediate successor in 1946 was a British man. He is also credited as one of the engineering co-inventors of the water-saving Jaison Water Tap. Major contributions and legacy Engineering innovations Together with friends such as the innovator-entrepreneur J.P. Subramonya Iyer of Travancore and engineer S.L. Narayanan, he developed a water-saving tap named Jaison Water Tap that was later introduced widely across the Indian Railways.

South Indian Railway Company
The South Indian Railway Company operated a number of gauge lines in South India from 1874 to 1951. History The Great Southern of India Railway Company was established with its headquarters in England in 1853. The Carnatic Railway Company was founded in 1869. The two companies merged in 1874 to form the South Indian Railway Company. The new firm was registered in London in 1890 with Trichinopoly as its headquarters. In 1891, the Pondicherry Railway Company (incorporated in 1845) merged with the South Indian Railway Company. The company moved its headquarters later to, Chennai Central. Fateh Chand Badhwar
Fateh Chand Badhwar OBE (1900 – 10 October 1995) was an Indian civil servant and the first Indian to become Chairman of the Railway Board. Early life and education Badhwar's father was an officer in the Indian Civil Service. He completed his schooling from Sherwood College in Nainital and later went on to study Mechanical Science Tripos at Cambridge University. Career Badhwar began his career as a marine engineer, working in several European countries on marine civil engineering projects after completing his engineering degree at Cambridge. In June 1925, he joined the East Indian Railway at Calcutta where he became one of the first Indian recruits in the technical services of the railways. Frank D'Souza
Frank D'Souza (born in Karachi, British India) was the first Indian to be appointed member of the Indian Railway Board and the man who set up the Pakistan Western Railway after Partition of India in 1947. Early life D'Souza was born in Karachi, British India (now Pakistan). He was educated at St Patrick's High School, Karachi. After finishing school with a Matriculation, Frank D'Souza started to work as a Railway Guard. He was a self-made man and educated himself over the years. In 1929 he was the first Indian to be appointed by the British as a Member of the Railway Board of India. The Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineering (IRSME) is one of the group 'A' central engineering services of the Indian railways. The officers of this service are responsible for managing the Mechanical Engineering Division of the Indian Railways. Till 2019, IRSME officers were drawn from the Combined Engineering Service Examination (ESE) conducted by Union Public Service Commission. Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) is an electric locomotive manufacturer based in India. The works are located at Chittaranjan in the Asansol Sadar subdivision of West Bengal, with an ancillary unit in Dankuni. The main unit is 32 km from Asansol and 237 km from Kolkata.
