Sri Lankan Cricket Team In Pakistan In 1985–86
The Sri Lanka national cricket team toured Pakistan in October to November 1985 and played a three-match Test series against the Pakistan national cricket team. Pakistan won the Test series 2–0. Sri Lanka were captained by Duleep Mendis and Pakistan by Javed Miandad. In addition, the teams played a four-match Limited Overs International (LOI) series which Pakistan won 4–0. Sri Lanka National Cricket Team
The Sri Lanka men's national cricket team, ( si, ශ්රී ලංකා ජාතික ක්රිකට් කණ්ඩායම, ta, இலங்கை தேசிய கிரிக்கெட் அணி) nicknamed The Lions, represents Sri Lanka in men's international cricket. It is a Full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with Test, One-Day International (ODI) and T20 International (T20I) status. The team first played international cricket (as Ceylon) in 1926–27, and were later awarded Test status in 1981, which made Sri Lanka the eighth Test cricket playing nation. Mudassar Nazar (Urdu: مدثر نذر; born 6 April 1956) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer with a career in Test cricket for Pakistan and in league cricket in Pakistan and England. He was an opening batsman who played 76 test and 122 one-day matches for Pakistan. After retiring from professional cricket, he has had a number of administrative positions in the cricketing world, including two stints as coach for Pakistan in 1993 and 2001, for Kenya and for several other teams. He was born in Lahore, Punjab. Currently, he is appointed an Advisor for Lahore Qalandars franchise cricket team in Pakistan Super League. Deshabandu Asanka Pradeep Gurusinha (born 16 September 1966) is a Sri Lankan Australian former international cricketer who had an 11-year international career, playing 41 Tests and 147 One Day Internationals for Sri Lanka. He was a key member for 1996 Cricket World Cup winning team for Sri Lanka, who is a specialist batsman helped to win the 1996 World Cup final with 65 in a partnership of 125 with the final's Man of the Match, Aravinda de Silva. The National Stadium (Urdu: نیشنل سٹیڈیم), also referred to as National Bank Cricket Arena for sponsorship reasons, is a cricket stadium in Karachi, Pakistan, owned by the Pakistan Cricket Board. It is the home ground of Karachi Kings and Karachi's many other domestic cricket teams. It is the largest cricket stadium in Pakistan with a capacity of 34,228 spectators. Tauseef Ahmed (born 10 May 1958) is a former Pakistani cricketer who played in 34 Test matches and 70 One Day Internationals between 1980 and 1993. Career Tauseef Ahmed made his first-class debut in early 1979 for Public Works Department against Pakistan International Airlines that was to remain his only first-class game for just over a year until his neighbor, Javed Sadiq, managed to get him a chance to bowl at the Pakistani tail-enders before the 1980 Karachi test against Australia. Abdul Qadir (cricketer)
Abdul Qadir Khan SI ( ur, , 15 September 1955 – 6 September 2019) was an international cricketer who bowled leg spin for Pakistan. Qadir is widely regarded as a legendary leg spinner from the 1970s and 1980s and was a role model for up and coming leg spinners. Later he was a commentator and Chief Selector of the Pakistan Cricket Board, from which he resigned due to differences of opinion with leading Pakistan cricket administrators. Qadir appeared in 67 Tests and 104 One Day International (ODI) matches between 1977 and 1993, and captained the Pakistan cricket team in five ODIs. Mian Mohammad Aslam (born 1 April 1949) is a Pakistani former cricket umpire. He stood in eight Test matches between 1984 and 2001 and 18 ODI games between 1982 and 2002. Javed Akhtar (cricketer)
Javed Akhtar (21 November 1940 – 8 July 2016) was a Pakistani cricketer who played in one Test in 1962. An off spinner, he had success at first-class level, taking his wickets at an average of 18.17, but struggled in his only Test, failing to take a wicket. He later became an umpire, standing in 18 Tests and 40 ODIs from 1980 to 1999. Jinnah Stadium (Punjabi language, Punjabi, ), formerly known as Connelly Park or Jinnah Park, is a cricket ground located in Sialkot, Punjab, Pakistan, Punjab, Pakistan. Ashantha De Mel
Ashantha Lakdasa Francis de Mel (born 9 May 1959) is a former Sri Lankan Test and ODI cricketer and selector for the national team. He bowled Sri Lanka's first ball in a Test match. He was one of few Sri Lanka bowlers in the 1980s above medium pace, and he was also said to have the ability to get the ball to swing out. In November 2018, he was named as the chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket's National Selection Panel. He previously served in the role in 2012.
