Springtown is an Unincorporated area, unincorporated community in Springfield Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Springfield Township in extreme northern Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The community is located at the junction of Routes Pennsylvania Route 212, 212 and Pennsylvania Route 412, 412 and is drained by the Cooks Creek east into the Delaware River. Springtown has two churches, and is home to the Springtown Inn. The village has its own post office, with the ZIP code 18081. Surrounding areas use the Coopersburg, Pennsylvania, Coopersburg ZIP code of 18036 and the Hellertown ZIP code of 18055. Springtown's 346 telephone exchange is in Area Code 610. History The community was founded by Abraham Funk with the purchase of 300 acres of land in 1763. Pennsylvania Route 212
Pennsylvania Route 212 (PA 212) is a state highway in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The route runs from PA 313 in the borough of Quakertown northeast to PA 611 in Durham Township, just south of the borough of Riegelsville. The route, which is a two-lane undivided road its entire length, passes through rural areas of northern Bucks County, serving Richlandtown and Springtown. PA 212 has a concurrency with PA 412 through the Springtown area. The westernmost part of PA 212 between Quakertown and Richlandtown was part of the Richland Turnpike or Plank Road Company, a company established in 1854 to build a turnpike connecting present-day PA 313 and PA 412. PA 212 was first designated by 1927 to run from U.S. Route 309 (US 309, now PA 309) and PA 312 (now PA 663) in Quakertown northeast to US 611 (now PA 611) in Riegelsville. The Hellertown station was a train station which was located in Hellertown, Pennsylvania on the former Bethlehem Line of the North Pennsylvania Railroad. Pennsylvania Route 412 (PA 412) is a north–south state route located in Northampton and Bucks counties in southeastern Pennsylvania. Its southern terminus is at PA 611 in the Nockamixon Township community of Harrow. Its northern terminus is at PA 378 in Bethlehem. The route passes through rural areas in northern Bucks County, forming a concurrency with PA 212 in the Springtown area. From there, PA 412 continues into Northampton County and passes through Hellertown before coming to an interchange with Interstate 78 (I-78) and heading into Bethlehem. In Bethlehem, PA 412 passes the former Bethlehem Steel site and runs through the South Side neighborhood. PA 412 was originally part of the 18th-century Durham Road that ran through Bucks County and north into the Lehigh Valley.
