KK Kumanovo ( mk, КК Куманово) is a professional basketball club based in Kumanovo, North Macedonia. They currently play in the Macedonian First League. The club play their home matches at the Sports Hall Kumanovo. History Founded: 1946 Name: KK Kumanovo 2009 (09-). After the founding in 1946, the team was only able to achieve national successes in 1980. In the 90s Kumanovo team qualified for the Korac Cup 1998/99 , in which they lost a two-legged home game against KK Krka as well as two years later in the same competition against the BK Jambol. The Balkan International Basketball League (BIBL), also known as the Balkan League, is a multinational professional basketball league that features mostly clubs from the Balkans. The 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup was the inaugural season of the newly formed basketball competition organised by FIBA. The season started on 21 October 2015 and ended on 1 May 2016. The competition replaced the EuroChallenge and had the aim to take the place of Eurocup (organised by Euroleague Basketball), as the second-tier competition in Europe. Format In the Regular season, 56 teams are divided into 14 groups of four teams. In the Round of 32, the first and second best teams from the Regular season play in groups of four.
