''Sports Page'' was a Canadian sports highlights television program that aired on CKVU-TV Vancouver from September 5, 1977 until August 31, 2001, and later on CHEK-TV Victoria, British Columbia, from September 2, 2001 until September 2, 2005. It was known for its personality-driven, irreverent approach (including the humorous annual Christmas Eve special, ''Yulin' with the Page''), and for helping to launch the careers of several broadcasters, many of whom later worked for sports television outlets such as Rogers Sportsnet, TSN, and Vancouver radio station The Team 1040. ''Sports Page'' aired Monday to Friday at 11:00 pm in its early years, with a Sunday edition from September to January, during the NFL season, before expanding to six nights a week (Sunday to Friday) year-round in later years. Vancouver Voodoo
The Vancouver VooDoo were an inline hockey team based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, which played in Roller Hockey International (RHI). The VooDoo were one of the original 12 teams to join the league in 1993. Founded and owned by Tiger Williams and Bill McMenamon, the team played in the PNE Agrodome in 1993 and 1994, the Pacific Coliseum in 1995. In 1996, the team played in General Motors Place after being sold to Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment, but folded in 1996. Season by season The Voodoo experienced consistent success in the regular season throughout their four-year history, winning their division all four years. Don Taylor (Canadian Sportscaster)
Don Taylor is a Canadian radio sportscaster and former television sportscaster. He worked for TSN Radio 1040 in Vancouver until being laid off on February 9, 2021 as part of the end of that station’s sports radio format. On April 5th, 2021, he and fellow sports broadcaster Rick Dhaliwal started hosting ''Donnie and Dhali - The Team'' on Victoria station CHEK-DT. Early life Taylor grew up in Burnaby BC. He is the youngest of four brothers and two sisters. Taylor graduated from Alpha Secondary School in 1977. Sports broadcasting Taylor was the longtime co-host of CKVU's nightly sports news show ''Sports Page'' from 1985 to 2000 and was also briefly a radio broadcaster with CKNW. He hosted Sportsnet Pacific's nightly sports news program ''Sportsnet Connected'' from 2001 up until August 8, 2014, when it was announced that Taylor would no longer work for Sportsnet. John Shorthouse (born January 31, 1970) is a Canadian sports broadcaster based in Vancouver, British Columbia. He is the lead play-by-play commentator for the Vancouver Canucks on Sportsnet Pacific television. He also calls select nationally-televised games on Sportsnet and Hockey Night in Canada. Dave Randorf (born July 31, 1967) is a Canadian sportscaster who serves as the play-by-play announcer for the television broadcasts of the Tampa Bay Lightning professional hockey team. He is best known for his work at TSN hosting the network's Canadian Football League studio show as well as TSN's and CTV's coverage of figure skating. Blake Price
Blake Price (born December 15, 1974) is a Canadian sportscaster. He is most recently an anchor on TSN's SportsCentre and a co-host of the most popular sports radio show in Vancouver, "Sekeres and Price Show" on TSN Radio 1040 alongside colleague, Matt Sekeres. On February 9, 2021, he was laid off as part of that stations switch away from a sports radio format. Dan S. Murphy (born May 6, 1970 in Abbotsford, British Columbia) is a Canadian sportscaster, who currently works for Rogers Sportsnet as host of Vancouver Canucks television broadcasts and occasionally as a rinkside reporter on NHL on Sportsnet or Hockey Night in Canada broadcasts.
