Sport In Vietnam
This article presents an overview of the Sports in Vietnam. Team sports Football Association football in Vietnam is run by the Vietnam Football Federation. The federation administers the Vietnam national football team, as well as the V-League, Vietnam First Division, Vietnam Second Division, and the Vietnamese League Three. Football is the most popular sport in Vietnam. Its annual V-League competition has taken place since 1980 (except in 1988 and 1999). When Vietnam was split into North Vietnam and South Vietnam, two national teams existed. The North Vietnamese national team was not very active, playing almost exclusively against other Communist countries between 1956 and 1966, while the South Vietnamese national team took part in the first two AFC Asian Cup finals, finishing fourth place both times. 2016 AFC Futsal Championship
The 2016 AFC Futsal Championship was the 14th edition of the AFC Futsal Championship, the biennial international futsal championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's national teams of Asia. The tournament was held in Uzbekistan between 10–21 February 2016. A total of 16 teams played in the tournament. The tournament was originally meant to be held in Taiwan (i.e. the Republic of China). It was originally scheduled for 12–27 March 2016, but this was changed following the adoption of the FIFA futsal international match calendar. Same as previous editions held on the same year as the FIFA Futsal World Cup, the tournament acted as the AFC qualifiers for the World Cup. Basketball At The 2019 Southeast Asian Games
Basketball was among the sports contested at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines. The basketball tournament in the games featured four events; traditional 5-on-5 basketball and 3x3 basketball, for both men and women. In 5-on-5, the Philippines were the 12-time defending champions in men's and Malaysia were the two-time defending champions in women's. 3x3 basketball was contested for the first time for both genders. 2019 AFC Futsal Club Championship
The 2019 AFC Futsal Club Championship was the 10th edition of the AFC Futsal Club Championship, an annual international futsal club tournament in Asia organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). It was held in Bangkok, Thailand between 7–17 August 2019. Mes Sungun were the defending champions, and were defeated by Nagoya Oceans in the final. Teams Of the 47 AFC member associations, a total of 16 associations teams entered the competition, each entering one team. There was no qualification, and all entrants advanced to the final tournament. 2017 AFC Futsal Club Championship
The 2017 AFC Futsal Club Championship was the 8th edition of the AFC Futsal Club Championship, an annual international futsal club tournament in Asia organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). It was held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 20 to 30 July 2017. The tournament was won by Chonburi Bluewave from Thailand after defeating Giti Pasand Isfahan from Iran 3–2 in the final. The win was Chonburi Bluewave's second Asian title, following after they won the 2013 AFC Futsal Club Championship four years ago. Nagoya Oceans from Japan were the defending champions, but they failed to qualify from the 2016–17 season of Japanese futsal league following their loss to Shriker Osaka for the Japanese champions. 2015 AFC Futsal Club Championship
The 2015 AFC Futsal Club Championship was the 6th edition of the AFC Futsal Club Championship, the annual Asian futsal club championship organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The tournament was held in Isfahan, Iran between July 31 and August 7, 2015. Qualified teams A total of 12 teams from 12 Asian Football Confederation, AFC member associations participated in the tournament. Tasisat Daryaei FSC, Tasisat Daryaei of Iran, as the representatives of the host association, and Nagoya Oceans of Japan, as the defending champions, automatically qualified for the finals. The 2018 AFC Futsal Club Championship was the 9th edition of the AFC Futsal Club Championship, an annual international futsal club tournament in Asia organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Thai Son Nam Futsal Club (Vietnamese: ''Câu lạc bộ futsal Thái Sơn Nam'') is a Vietnam futsal club. The team is current champion of Vietnam National Futsal League and is the most successful futsal club in Vietnam.
