Pigface
Pigface is an American industrial rock supergroup formed in 1990 by Martin Atkins and William Rieflin. History Pigface was formed from Ministry's ''The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste'' tour, which produced the ''In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up'' live album and video. For the tour, Al Jourgensen brought Atkins, Nivek Ogre and Chris Connelly. Also on the tour was Rieflin, regular Ministry drummer at the time. While Atkins enjoyed the dynamic of playing with a second drummer, he felt that the lineup was capable of doing much more than being, what he has frequently called, "a Ministry cover band." Once the tour was over, Atkins and Rieflin decided to continue working together and recruited several of their tourmates. Industrial music is a genre of music that draws on harsh, mechanical, transgressive or provocative sounds and themes. Industrial rock is a fusion genre that fuses industrial music and rock music. Chris Connelly (born 11 November 1964) is a Scottish musician and author who became famous for his industrial music work of the late 1980s and early 1990s, particularly his involvement with the Revolting Cocks and Ministry. He has since established himself as an alternative singer-songwriter, and continues to release solo albums, as well as perform on collaborations. Early years Connelly was born in Bruntsfield, Scotland to Michael and Sadie (née King) Connelly near the city centre of Edinburgh. Connelly's father died in a swimming accident early in his life, causing Chris to focus on artistic interests outside the home to help fill the void. Connelly's Scottish ancestry includes Irish descent through the Connellys and Murphys, who originally came from Ireland to Scotland. He also works as a consultant, has written books, and is the music business program coordinator at Millikin University in Decatur, IL. William Frederick Rieflin (September 30, 1960 – March 24, 2020) was an American musician. Rieflin came to prominence in the 1990s mainly for his work as a drummer with groups (particularly in the industrial rock and industrial metal scenes) such as Ministry, the Revolting Cocks, Lard, KMFDM, Pigface, Swans, Chris Connelly, and Nine Inch Nails. He worked regularly with R.E.M. following the retirement of Bill Berry in 1997. He was a member of King Crimson from 2013 until his death in 2020. Career Rieflin was born on September 30, 1960 (some sources say September 29) and began his professional career in his hometown of Seattle. William Tucker (musician)
William Tucker (1961 – May 14, 1999) was an American guitarist whose credits included work with Ministry (band), Ministry, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, Pigface, Chemlab, and Chris Connelly (musician), Chris Connelly. He grew up in New Jersey, where he formed Regressive Aid with Andrew Weiss (guitarist), Andrew Weiss and Sim Cain (both later of Gone (band), Gone and the Rollins Band). He also taught the guitar to locals, one of whom was Dean Ween, Mickey "Dean Ween" Melchiondo of the alternative band Ween. After the release of the single "(Ever Since I Was Young) I Love the Sound of Machines" with the Swinging Pistons in 1986, he came to the attention of Ministry's Al Jourgensen, who invited him to join his band for their "The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste" tour in 1989. Kevin Graham Ogilvie (born December 5, 1962), known professionally as Nivek Ogre, is a Canadian musician, performance artist and actor, best known for his work with the industrial music group Skinny Puppy, which he co-founded with cEvin Key. Since 1982, he has served as Skinny Puppy's primary lyricist and vocalist, occasionally providing instrumentation and samples.
