Splashh
Splashh were an Anglo-Australian indie rock band, formed in 2012 in Hackney, East London. The band was composed of frontman and guitarist Sasha Frantz Carlson, guitarist/synth player Taddeo "Toto" Vivian MacDonald, bassist Thomas Beal, and synth player Jaie Gonzalez. Although formed in London, none of the band were from the city. Carlson is from Auckland, New Zealand, Vivian born in Italy and raised in Byron Bay, Australia, Beal from Shifnal, Shropshire, England and Gonzalez from Australia. The band announced on 5 June 2018 via social media that it was an end of era and that they were taking an indefinite hiatus. ''Comfort'' is the debut studio album by British band Splashh, first released on 4 June 2013 in the US on Kanine Records, then on 2 September 2013 through Luv Luv Luv Records in the UK. Best Kept Secret (festival)
The Best Kept Secret festival is a three-day music festival held inside the Safaripark Beekse Bergen, within the village of Hilvarenbeek, south of the Netherlands, since 2013. Best Kept Secret is a music festival with a line-up in which big names are alternated with new discoveries from indie, folk, hip-hop, rock, electronics or a mixture of styles. The festival's centerpiece is a lake at the back of Beekse Bergen safari park. The festival's founder described his vision as aiming to create "something that we’d like to go to ourselves". Best Kept Secret festival has one open air stage (ONE), three tent stages (TWO, FIVE and SEVEN) and two dance floor stages: THREE and FOUR. Angus Tarnawsky
Angus Tarnawsky is an Australian artist and musician. He was awarded a Bachelor of Music Performance (Honours) from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2009, specializing in electro-acoustic improvisation. He relocated from Melbourne to Brooklyn, New York in 2010 to join the motorik influenced rock band, Apache Beat. He currently lives and works in Canada. As a solo artist, he creates electro-acoustic/electronic music and exhibits sound installations. In 2014, his debut EP was released by the Berlin-based record label Inner Surface Music. That same year the Melbourne Next Wave Festival premiered his first installation project "Artifacts," with pianist Nathan Liow. He has collaborated on a wide range of projects, including work with visual artist, Stanislava Pinchuk, musician Brian Chase, and choreographer Duane Cyrus. Field Day (festival)
Field Day is a yearly outdoor music festival in London. It was first held in Victoria Park in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets on 11 August 2007 and returned there each year until 2017. The 2018 festival moved to Brockwell Park, and in 2019 it was held at Meridian Water in Enfield, with a capacity of 25,000. It has continuously expanded, and since its inception, has sold out yearly. Village mentality The festival hosts an annual village fete titled Village Mentality. Beginning in 2008, the area includes a sack race, tug of war and egg and spoon race. In 2008, the events took place until 5pm, finishing earlier than the rest of the festival. In 2009, the area was extended to include its own musical line-up, playing on the Village Mentality Stage. Kanine Records
Kanine Records is an independent record label based in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York started at the end of 2002 by Lio and Kay Kanine. Their first release, ''NY: The Next Wave'', was a 20 track compilation featuring mostly unsigned and emerging acts from the area. From there, they started to sign local bands and release CD EPs, 12-inch vinyl and eventually full-length records. The label remains independent and continues to grow due to the ongoing success of artists like Grizzly Bear, Chairlift, and Surfer Blood. Yak (band)
Yak were an English alternative rock band, formed in 2014 and composed of singer-guitarist Oliver Henry Burslem, bassist Vincent Davies and drummer Elliot Rawson. The band released their debut album ''Alas Salvation'' in May 2016. The band's original bassist Andy Jones left the band in early 2017, after previously bowing out of earlier live commitments. They released their second album '' Pursuit of Momentary Happiness'' in February 2019. They entered an indefinite hiatus following a final show at ULU, London on 15 November 2019. Ripchord (band)
Ripchord was an English four piece rock band, formed in 2004 in Wolverhampton. The band supported acts such as The Kooks, Babyshambles and The Kaiser Chiefs. They took their name from the Radiohead song ‘Ripcord’ with an added 'h'. The band was signed to 1965 Records and released two singles - Lock Up Your Daughters (And Throw Away The Key) & Backstabber, the first of which was a limited edition single of only 1,000 copies. The Festival Internacional de Benicàssim (), commonly abbreviated to simply FIB, is an annual music festival that takes place in the town of Benicàssim, in the Valencian Community, Spain.
