Dan Spiegle
Dan Spiegle (December 10, 1920 – January 28, 2017) was an American comics artist and cartoonist best known for comics based on movie and television characters across a variety of companies, including Dell Comics, DC Comics, and Marvel Comics. Biography Early life and career Dan Spiegle was born in Cosmopolis, Washington, in 1920, and raised there and in Honolulu, Hawaii, and northern California. After high school, Spiegle "found myself in the Navy", where he worked on the base newspaper and on insignias for airplanes. Following his discharge in 1946, Spiegle enrolled at the Chouinard Art Institute of Los Angeles on the G.I. Bill. Spiegle began his professional cartoonist career in 1949 drawing the comic strip '' Hopalong Cassidy'' for the Mirror Enterprises Syndicate. He continued to draw this strip after it was bought out by King Features in 1951, until it was cancelled in 1955. Garry Spiegle
Garry Floyd Spiegle (August 12, 1945 in Fairfield, Alabama – June 25, 2018) was a game designer who worked primarily on role-playing games. Career After the original Dragonlance group began, the Dragonlance Series Design Team was later expanded to also include Margaret Weis, Douglas Niles, Bruce Nesmith, Mike Breault, Roger Moore, Laura Hickman, Linda Bakk, Michael Dobson and Garry Spiegle. Between 1983 and 1984, approximately 200 people left TSR as a result of multiple rounds of layoffs; as a result Spiegle joined CEO John Rickets, as well as Mark Acres, Andria Hayday, Gaye Goldsberry O'Keefe, Gali Sanchez, Carl Smith, Stephen D. Sullivan, and Michael Williams in forming the game company Pacesetter on January 23, 1984. His ''D&D'' design work includes ''Death's Ride'' (1984) and ''The Kidnapping of Princess Arelina'' (1984). Spiegle Willcox
Newell "Spiegle" Willcox (May 2, 1903 in Sherburne, New York – August 25, 1999 in Cortland, New York) was a jazz trombonist. He was born Newell Lynn Willcox in upstate New York, and learned valve trombone as a youngster under the tuition of his father, Lynn Willcox, an amateur musician and bandleader. As a student of Manlius Military Academy, where he also played in the school brass band, he acquired the familiar nickname Spiegle, after one of the horses from the Academy's stables which, according to his fellow students, he apparently resembled! He switched to the more familiar slide trombone in his late teens, and joined a group called The Big Four in nearby Syracuse, New York. The band came to the notice of an aspiring young bandleader named Paul Whiteman, who first joined the group, then took over its leadership as the Paul Whiteman Collegians, and brought them to the bigger stage of New York City itself in 1923.
