Relations between Spain and Ukraine were established in January 1992, some time after the Ukrainian independence. The Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid is the diplomatic mission of Ukraine in Spain. The embassy building is located at Ronda de la Abubilla 52 in Madrid. Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón (; born 29 February 1972) is a Spanish politician who has been Prime Minister of Spain since June 2018. 2021–2022 Russo-Ukrainian Crisis
In March and April 2021, Russian president Vladimir Putin ordered the Russian military to begin massing thousands of personnel and equipment near its border with Ukraine and in Crimea, representing the largest mobilization since the annexation of Crimea in 2014.
