Spain In The Eurovision Song Contest 2005
Spain participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "Brujería" written by Alfredo Panebianco. The song was performed by the group Son de Sol. The Spanish broadcaster Televisión Española (TVE) organised the national final ''Eurovisión 2005: Elige nuestra canción'' in order to select the Spanish entry for the 2005 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. The national final consisted of a semi-final and a final and involved twelve artists and songs. Six entries ultimately qualified to compete in the televised final where a public televote exclusively selected "Brujería" performed by Son de Sol as the winner, receiving 24.2% of the votes. As a member of the " Big Four", Spain automatically qualified to compete in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Son De Sol
Son de Sol (in English, ''Sound of the Sun'') is a Spanish flamenco-pop band, made up of three sisters (Sole, Esperanza and Lola León) from Écija, Seville, Andalusia. The trio represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, which was held in Kyiv. Eurovision Song Contest 2005 In the national pre-selection contest, broadcast by Televisión Española on the 4 and 5 March 2005, the group's song "Brujería" (''Witchcraft'') secured 24.2% of the vote, placing them ahead of the hot favourites Las Supremas de Móstoles by a margin of just 2.4%. The song was produced by Manuel Ruiz (aka Queco), who was also responsible for "The Ketchup Song (Aserejé)" by Las Ketchup, a massive international hit. Spain took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 1971. The country was represented by Karina with the song "En un mundo nuevo". Karina was selected through the competition ''Pasaporte a Dublín'' ("Passport to Dublin"), and the song she would sing in Dublin was internally chosen once the national final was over. The music was composed by Rafael Trabucchelli and the lyrics written by Tony Luz. Ramón del Castillo Palop (born 3 May 1985) is a Spanish singer best known for representing Spain at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul.
