Souvik Chakrabarti
Souvik Chakrabarti (born 12 July 1991), is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder or defender for Indian Super League club East Bengal. Career Mohun Bagan Chakraborty started playing football at the age of eight at the Yubajagaran football coaching centre. He then joined the Mohun Bagan Academy when he was 15 years old where he recalls his most memorable moment there, the Manchester United Premier Cup in Manchester, England. Chakraborty was then selected to join the first-team for the 2009–10 Indian Federation Cup and the Calcutta Football League. His call-up to the senior team was made possible due to the rule that each club in the Calcutta Football League must have 2 under-19 players in the squad. Mohun Bagan Athletic Club is an Indian professional sports club based in Kolkata, West Bengal. Founded in 1889, its football section is one of the oldest in India and Asia. The club is most notable for its victory over East Yorkshire Regiment in the 1911 IFA Shield final. Snehasish Chakraborty (born 16 February 1989) is an Indian football player. He most notably played for Prayag United in the I-League as a midfielder. Career Early career While living in Icchapur, he used to attend a coaching camp. In Shyamnagar, he used to practice under Jahar Biswas who used to come all the way from Naihati. The 2012 Durand Cup was the 125th season of the Durand Cup, the third oldest football tournament in the world, which is a knock-out competition held in India. Churchill Brothers were the current holders, having beaten Prayag United in the 2011 Final. The tournament was held from 16 August to 1 September with all matches at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi. The club was formed by the All India Football Federation in 2010, with a main goal of nurturing young Indian football talents. I-League
The I-League (known as Hero I-League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp) is the second-tier men's professional football competition of the Indian football league system. It is currently contested by 12 clubs across the country with the winners getting promotion to play in the premier division, the Indian Super League. The competition was founded in 2007 as the successor to the National Football League, with the first season starting in November 2007. Anwar Ali is an Indian former professional footballer and current assistant coach of Delhi FC. Career Anwar joined the Rurka Kalan Academy of his village (Adampur), which is about away from the city of Jalandhar when he was in school.
