Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST; ) is a private university in Yongkang District, Tainan, Taiwan. History The university was originally founded in 1969 as Nan-Tai Junior College of Engineering. In 1990, it became Nan-Tai Junior College of Engineering and Business. In 1996 it was upgraded to Nan-Tai Institute of Technology and again to Southern Taiwan University of Technology in 1999. In 2007 it was upgraded to Southern Taiwan University and in 2012 it became Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. Yongkang District
Yongkang District () is a district home to 233,730 people in Tainan, Taiwan. History Due to the development of manufacturing and food-processing industries, Yongkang has become a migrant city since the 1970s, attracting many people from neighboring cities who now work and live in the city. Its population experienced a large increase during the 1970s, and Yongkang became the largest city in Tainan County in 1977. On 1 May 1993 Yongkang was upgraded from rural township to a county-administered city since its population exceeded 150,000. Yongkang was formerly the largest city of Tainan County until it merged with Tainan City to form the new Tainan municipality and became Yongkang District on 25 December 2010. Tainan
Tainan (), officially Tainan City, is a Special municipality (Taiwan), special municipality in southern Taiwan facing the Taiwan Strait on its western coast. Shin Wen-Bing
Hsin Wen-bing (1 February 1912 – 20 March 1999) was a Taiwanese politician who served as mayor of Tainan from 1960 to 1964, and a member of the Legislative Yuan between 1973 and 1981. After retiring from the public office, he became the first elected president of the South Taiwan Artisan School (ATAS) on December 15, 1969, later renamed the Southern Taiwan University of Technology Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST; ) is a private university in Yongkang District, Tainan, Taiwan. Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) is a railway operator in Taiwan. It is an agency of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, responsible for managing, maintaining, and running conventional passenger and freight railway services on 1097 km of track in Taiwan.
