Southern Oregon Starphire FC was an American soccer team based in Medford, Oregon, United States. The team played in Pacific Premier League (PPL), a regional amateur league based in Northern California, then later in the United Premier Soccer League. The team played its home games at Walter A. Philips Field at Ashland High School in Ashland, Oregon, and Spiegelberg Stadium in Medford, Oregon. History Founded by Jay Coster in 2000 as Southern Oregon Fuego, the club existed as an exhibition team for approximately ten years before joining the NPSL in 2009. Southern Oregon regularly hosted exhibition matches against teams such as the Cascade Surge of the USL PDL, local college teams or collections of area all-stars. In 2009 it was announced that the Fuego would be playing as a member of the National Premier Soccer League in the Western Division. Ashland High School (Oregon)
Ashland High School (AHS) is a public high school in Ashland, Oregon, United States, near the Southern Oregon University campus. History Fire On June 3, 2006 at 2:30 pm, a fire broke out in the AHS room behind the gym during a farewell assembly for the seniors. Students and teachers were evacuated. The gym was heavily damaged and Mountain Avenue was closed for hours. No one was hurt during the fire. The fire department determined that the fire had been started by two students with firework sparklers. Homecoming The homecoming dance on September 25, 2015 was the first school dance at AHS to feature gender-neutral "homecoming royalty". The change was initiated by student body presidents and approved by the principal at the time, Michelle Zundel. The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is an American men's association football, soccer league. The NPSL is a semi-professional league, comprising some teams that have paid players and some that are entirely amateur. The league is officially affiliated to the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and has automatic qualification for the U.S. Open Cup. Sonoma County Sol is an American soccer team based in Santa Rosa, California, United States. Founded in 2004, the team plays in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), a national amateur league at the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, in the West Region, Golden Gate Conference. Cascade Surge
Cascade Surge was an American soccer team based in Salem, Oregon, United States. Founded in 1995, the team played in the USL Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, until 2009, when the franchise folded and the team left the league. The team played its home games at McCulloch Stadium on the campus of Willamette University, where they played since 2004. The team's colors were blue and white.
