Southborough High School
Southborough High School, commonly known as ''Southborough'', is a boys secondary School with a mixed sixth form. Founded in 1962, it has academy status and is in Surbiton, Greater London. It was rated a grade 2 school (Good) in 2017 by Ofsted. About Southborough Southborough Boys' School was built in 1960–1962, at the Ace of Spades (junction) on the A3, principally on the site of the former Ace of Spades Roadhouse, remnants of which can still be seen in the architecture of the buildings to the immediate north of the service station located next to the school. The Roadhouse and swimming pool complex were destroyed by fire in the early 1950s. Originally categorised as a 'secondary modern school' when it opened in 1962, Southborough converted to Academy status in March 2012. An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. London Buses route 467 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London and Surrey, England. Running between Hinchley Wood School and Epsom Hospital, it is operated by London United. History The route has roots from the London Country route 468 which was introduced in May 1946 in time for the first post-war Epsom Derby, which went from what was then Chessington Zoo to Effingham via Epsom Hospital. It was renumbered 467 in 1999 after London suffix lettered bus routes were renumbered; 68A became London Buses route 468, so the 468 became the 467, which had previously been used as a London Transport country route between Horton Kirby and Sidcup. In early 2005, it was suggested that the route be merged with the K4, providing a service between Epsom Hospital and Kingston Hospital. Dorking
Dorking () is a market town in Surrey in South East England, about south of London. It is in Mole Valley District and the council headquarters are to the east of the centre. The High Street runs roughly east–west, parallel to the Pipp Brook and along the northern face of an outcrop of Lower Greensand. The town is surrounded on three sides by the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is close to Box Hill and Leith Hill. The earliest archaeological evidence of human activity is from the Mesolithic and Neolithic periods, and there are several Bronze Age bowl barrows in the local area. The town may have been the site of a staging post on Stane Street during Roman times, however the name 'Dorking' suggests an Anglo-Saxon origin for the modern settlement. Running between Kingston and Dorking, it is operated by London United. The route extends the furthest from London of all Transport for London routes. Upon being re-tendered, it passed to Tellings-Golden Miller on 1 May 1999 and was extended past Kingston to Tellings' Fulwell Bus Garage. Hinchley Wood Railway Station
Hinchley Wood railway station is in the centre of the compact suburban village of Hinchley Wood in Surrey, England. It is down the line from and opened in 1930 after the New Guildford Line first passed through the area in 1885. It is the northernmost station on the line, following which the line merges into the four-track South West Main Line and is outside of the Transport for London area. Vauxhall (, ) is a National Rail, London Underground and London Buses interchange station in central London. It is at the Vauxhall Cross road junction opposite the southern approach to Vauxhall Bridge over the River Thames in the district of Vauxhall.
