South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust
South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust, formerly South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust, runs Warwick Hospital which has 350 beds and provides inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic services. The trust also runs Stratford Hospital where there are outpatient clinics and a Minor Injury Unit, and Leamington Spa Hospital. The Trust employs over 2,200 people and serves a population of about 270,000. The trust agreed a package of support for the financially troubled George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust in August 2014 although its bid to take over the organisation was rejected. In July 2017, it agreed to set up a "foundation group" to create twin Accountable care organizations with Wye Valley NHS Trust, though there does not appear to be any plan to merge the two trusts. Warwick Hospital
Warwick Hospital on Lakin Road in the northwest of Warwick, Warwickshire, England is run by South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. History The facility has its origins in the infirmary built for the Warwick Union Poorhouse in Union Road (now Lakin Road) in 1848. The infirmary was extended in 1857 and 1876 with a chapel and mortuary following in 1883. A new purpose-built hospital was completed in 1903 and the old workhouse, which became known as the Warwick Public Assistance Institution, was integrated into the new hospital after 1930. The hospital joined the National Health Service in 1948 and the Public Assistance Institution ceased to operate as a separate body from 1949. The main maternity unit for the district was moved from Warneford Hospital in Leamington Spa to Warwick in 1993. Stratford Hospital is a heath facility on Arden Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England. It is managed by South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust. History The facility has its origins in the Stratford-upon-Avon Dispensary established in Chapel Street in 1823. It moved to expanded facilities in Chapel Lane as the Stratford-upon-Avon Infirmary in 1838. A new facility built in the Victorian style opened in Alcester Road as the Stratford-upon-Avon Hospital in 1884. The hospital expanded in the first half of the 20th century taking over many of the old workhouse buildings on Arden Street to the immediate north of the old Victorian hospital. Leamington Spa Hospital
Leamington Spa Hospital is located on Heathcote Lane in Warwick, Warwickshire, in England. Originally an isolation hospital, it is now a hospital run by South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust specialising in rehabilitation. History The facility was established as an isolation hospital for treating contagious diseases known as Heathcote Hospital in 1887. A nurses' home was built 1937. The hospital started to focus specifically on tuberculosis cases in 1952 and was converted for use as a geriatric hospital in 1959. In the early 21st century steps were take to convert the buildings for use as a rehabilitation centre. Feldon Ward, which was refurbished for use as a state-of-the-art stroke unit, re-opened in 2006. The George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust runs George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, England and the Urgent Care Centre at Leicester Royal Infirmary. History In October 2013, as a result of the Keogh Review, the trust was put into the highest risk category by the Care Quality Commission. An accountable care organization (ACO) is a healthcare organization that ties provider reimbursements to quality metrics and reductions in the cost of care. ACOs in the United States are formed from a group of coordinated health-care practitioners. They use alternative payment models, normally, capitation. The organization is accountable to patients and third-party payers for the quality, appropriateness and efficiency of the health care provided. Stratford-upon-Avon (), commonly known as just Stratford, is a market town and civil parish in the Stratford-on-Avon district, in the county of Warwickshire, in the West Midlands region of England. George Eliot Hospital is a single site hospital located in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, it is managed by the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust.
