South Carleton High School
South Carleton High School is a high school situated in the southwestern sector of the city of Ottawa, in the town of Richmond, Ontario. The school is under the jurisdiction of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. The SCHS attendance boundaries cover a major section of the southern part of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. Students come from all over the southwestern sector of the city but mainly from the communities of Stittsville, Manotick, Richmond, Riverside South, North Gower, Munster, Kars, Fallowfield, Ashton, Burritts Rapids and the area connecting these communities. SCHS feeder schools include Goulbourn Middle School, Kars on the Rideau Public School, and A. Lorne Cassidy Elementary School. Burritts Rapids, Ontario
Burritts Rapids is a small village located on the Rideau River in eastern Ontario. The hamlet was named after Stephen Burritt, whose family was the first to settle in this area. At one time, the hamlet prospered due to its location on the Rideau Canal. The community straddles the river, so part is located in Rideau Township, now Rideau-Jock Ward in Ottawa, and part in North Grenville Township. There is a lock on the canal to bypass rapids here, the Burritts Rapids Bridge which crosses the canal and a stationary bridge which crosses the river. History In 1793, Stephen and Daniel Burritt, from Arlington, Vermont, settled in the vicinity of the area now known as Burritt's Rapids. Ashton, Ontario
The small village of Ashton is located about southwest of Downtown Ottawa, Ontario, at the intersection of Ashton Station Road and Flewellyn Road. Ashton Station Road runs through the centre of the community, and serves as the south-western boundary line for the City of Ottawa, thus making the eastern portion of the hamlet part of Ottawa, and the western portion part of Lanark County. The eastern portion of the community was originally part of Goulbourn Township, which was amalgamated into the City of Ottawa in 2001. It is home to approximately 200 residents. The headwaters of the Jock River, which runs through the heart of the community, are just to the west of the hamlet. There is a general store, a pub, several churches and a community center. Fallowfield is an unincorporated village (also known as Fallowfield Village) in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, located south-west of Bells Corners, west of Barrhaven and the 416 and north-east of Richmond within the southwest area of the city. Fallowfield is located in the triangle of Fallowfield Road, Richmond Road and Steeple Hill Crescent and also includes Richmond Road north up to Hope Side Road. Munster, Ontario
Munster, Ontario (also known as Munster Hamlet) is a large village situated south-west of Stittsville, west of Richmond and north of North Gower. The total population, as of the 2016 Canadian Census was 939, a decrease of 24.4% from the 2011 Canadian Census figure of 1,242. Munster was established as a post office in the Goulbourn Township by 1866; Thomas Tubman served as postmaster. Since 1 January 2001, it has been a part of the City of Ottawa.
