SouthWest Central League
The Southwest Central League (SWCL) is a high school athletic conference in southwest Missouri. The league is made of five members located in Barry County, Missouri, Barry, Stone County, Missouri, Stone, and Taney County, Missouri, Taney Counties. The SWCL offers men's championships in baseball, basketball, cross country, and golf. Women's championships sponsored are basketball, cross country, softball and volleyball. Member schools also sponsor sideline cheerleading, music competition, and scholar bowl. Junior high level offerings include boys' and girls' basketball, baseball, and volleyball. All member schools are members of Missouri State High School Activities Association. Member Schools ^Unknown, but records show Galena was a member by 1963. The Greater Ozarks Conference is a high school activities conference represented by seven private and public schools in the southwest portion of Missouri. History The Greater Ozarks Conference was created in 2023 and established in 2024 by the founding schools of: Billings, Crane, Greenwood Laboratory, School, Marion C. Early, New Covenant Academy, Pleasant Hope, and Spokane to begin in the 2024-2025 school year. Prior to the establishment, four of the founding schools belonged to other conferences. Kirbyville is a village in Taney County, Missouri, United States. The population was 195 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Branson, Missouri Micropolitan Statistical Area. History A post office called Kirbyville has been in operation since 1871. One Mr. Kirby, an early postmaster, gave the community his last name. Washburn is a city in Washburn Township, Barry County, Missouri, United States. The current town encompasses the sites of two communities formerly known as Keetsville and O'Day and is named for local pioneer Samuel C. Washburn. The population was 435 at the 2010 census.
