Source Sans
Source Sans Pro is a sans serif typeface created by Paul D. Hunt, released by Adobe in 2012. It is the first open-source font family from Adobe, distributed under the SIL Open Font License. The typeface is inspired by the forms of the American Type Founders' gothics by Morris Fuller Benton, such as News Gothic, Lightline Gothic and Franklin Gothic, modified with both a larger x-height and character width and more humanist-influenced italic forms. It is available in six weights (Regular, ExtraLight, Light, Semibold, Bold, Black) in upright and italic styles, and is also available as a variable font with continuous weight values from 200 to 900. The typeface has wide language support for Latin script, including Western and Eastern European languages, Vietnamese, pinyin Romanization of Chinese, and Navajo. Sans-serif
In typography and lettering, a sans-serif, sans serif, gothic, or simply sans letterform is one that does not have extending features called "serifs" at the end of strokes. Sans-serif typefaces tend to have less stroke width variation than serif typefaces. They are often used to convey simplicity and modernity or minimalism. Sans-serif typefaces have become the most prevalent for display of text on computer screens. On lower-resolution digital displays, fine details like serifs may disappear or appear too large. Type Color
Type color, or colour, is an element of typography that describes how dense or heavy the text appears on the page. Finding the correct balance of type color and white space can make text more easily readable. The term ''type color'' should not be confused with the usual meaning of color, (i.e. red, yellow, blue); instead it has more to do with the blackness or boldness of the text on the page. A bold font creates more contrast on the page, therefore creates more emphasis. Using a bold font is therefore one way that type color can be adjusted. There are four different decisions a typographer can make that affect the type color. These are the letter spacing, the way the specific font or type is designed, word spacing, and line spacing (leading). Free Software Unicode Typefaces
There are Unicode typefaces which are open-source and designed to contain glyphs of all Unicode characters, or at least a broad selection of Unicode scripts. There are also numerous projects aimed at providing only a certain script, such as the Arabeyes Arabic font. The advantage of targeting only some scripts with a font was that certain Unicode characters should be rendered differently depending on which language they are used in, and that a font that only includes the characters a certain user needs will be much smaller in file size compared to one with many glyphs. Source Han Serif (also known as Noto Serif CJK) is a serif Ming (typefaces), Song/Ming typeface created by Adobe Systems, Adobe and Google. Design Latin-script letters and numerals are from the Source Serif Pro font. Changzhou SinoType Co., Ltd., Iwata Corporation and Sandoll Communications, Sandoll Communications Inc. took part in the design and finished the work on Chinese (both Simplified and Traditional), Japanese and Korean glyphs. The kana characters were designed by Ryoko Nishizuka of Adobe Systems Incorporated. Frank Grießhammer designed the Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic glyphs. Ken Lunde from Adobe Systems Incorporated Specification worked on the glyph set, Unicode mappings and CJK glyph consolidation of the typeface. CJK Characters

Source Serif is a serif typeface created by Frank Grießhammer for Adobe Systems. It is the third open-source font family from Adobe, distributed under the SIL Open Font License. The typeface is inspired by the forms of Pierre Simon Fournier and is a complementary design to the Source Sans family. It is available in six weights in upright styles and italics, and five optical sizes. It is also available as a variable font with continuous weights from 200 to 900. The first version, named "Source Serif Pro", was released in 2014. Version 2.0 was released in 2017 and introduced support for more Latin characters, Cyrillic, and Greek. In 2018, Latin italics were added in version "2.007R-ro/1.007R-it". In 2019, Greek and Cyrillic italic were added in version "3.000R".
