''Soulicious'' is the sixth studio album by German singer–songwriter Sarah Connor, released in German-speaking Europe on 30 March 2007 by X-Cell Records. Entirely produced by Kay Denar and Rob Tyger, the album consists of a collection of cover versions of Motown music from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, apart from two original tracks, "Soothe My Soul" and the title track "Soulicious". Sarah Connor (born Sarah Marianne Corina Lewe; 13 June 1980) is a German singer and songwriter. She rose to prominence after she signed with X-Cell Records in 2000 and released her debut album ''Green Eyed Soul'' (2001) the following year. She followed it with a series of successful albums, including '' Unbelievable'' (2002), ''Key to My Soul'' (2003), '' Naughty but Nice'' (2005), '' Christmas in My Heart'' (2005), '' Soulicious'' (2007), '' Sexy as Hell'' (2008) and '' Real Love'' (2010). Valerie Simpson
Ashford & Simpson were an American husband-and-wife songwriting-production team and recording duo of Nickolas Ashford (May 4, 1941 – August 22, 2011) and Valerie Simpson (born August 26, 1946). Ashford was born in Fairfield, South Carolina, and Simpson in the Bronx, New York City. Afterwards, his family relocated to Ypsilanti, Michigan, where he became a member of Christ Temple Baptist Church. While there, he sang with a group called the Hammond Singers (named after the founding minister, James Hammond). Later, Nickolas attended and graduated from Willow Run High School in Ypsilanti, Michigan, before pursuing his professional career, where he would ultimately meet his wife, Valerie. They met at Harlem's White Rock Baptist Church in 1964. Gerald Goffin (February 11, 1939 – June 19, 2014) was an American lyricist. Collaborating initially with his first wife, Carole King, he co-wrote many international pop hits of the early and mid-1960s, including the List of Billboard number-one singles, US No.1 hits "Will You Love Me Tomorrow", "Take Good Care of My Baby", "The Loco-Motion", and "Go Away Little Girl". It was later said of Goffin that his gift was "to find words that expressed what many young people were feeling but were unable to articulate." Wilbur H. "Will" Jennings (born June 27, 1944) is an American lyricist. He is popularly known for writing the lyrics for the songs "Tears in Heaven" and "My Heart Will Go On". He has been inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame and has won several awards including three Grammy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and two Academy Awards.
