Small-outline Transistor
A small outline transistor (SOT) is a family of small footprint, discrete surface mount transistor commonly used in consumer electronics. The most common SOT are SOT23 variations, link froamkor.com/packaging/leadframe/sot23-tsot/ref> also manufacturers offer the nearly identical thin small outline transistor (TSOT) package, where lower height is important. SOT23-3, SOT323, SOT416 The SOT23-3 package is very popular and a common package for transistors, and is also used for diodes and voltage regulators. SOT23-5, SOT353, SOT553 SOT23-6, SOT363, SOT563 SOT23-8 SOT54 SOT54 is an alternate designation for the JEDEC TO-92 package. SOT143, SOT343 SOT490 SOT89-3 The SOT89-3 electrically only has three leads (contact/pin). The wide lead (tab) is physically part of the middle lead on the other side of the package. Some call this package a SOT89-4, since it visually appears to have four leads when looking down at the part. SOT89-5 The SOT89-5 electrically onl ... Society Of Toxicology
The Society of Toxicology (SOT) is a learned society (professional association) based in the United States that supports scientific inquiry in the field of toxicology. Goals The SOT is committed to creating a safer and healthier world by advancing the science of toxicology. The Society promotes the acquisition and utilization of knowledge in toxicology, aids in the protection of public health, and facilitates disciplines. SOT's definition of toxicology is 'the study of the adverse effects of chemical, physical or biological agents on living organisms and the ecosystem, including the prevention and amelioration of such adverse effects.' The society organizes an annual meeting (usually in the early spring) and several smaller colloquia via its special interest sections and groups. It publishes the journal ''Toxicological Sciences'', as well as public position papers and guidelines on conflicts of interest in toxicology. Membership Full membership of the society is restricted t ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Sound On Tape
SOT is an acronym for the phrase sound on tape. It refers to any audio recorded on analog or digital video formats. It is used in scriptwriting for television productions and filmmaking to indicate the portions of the production that will use room tone or other audio from the time of recording, as opposed to audio recorded later (studio voice-over, foley, etc.). In broadcast journalism, SOT is generally considered to be audio captured from an individual who is on camera, like an interviewee and may also be referred to as a ''soundbite''. Strong Operator Topology
In functional analysis, a branch of mathematics, the strong operator topology, often abbreviated SOT, is the locally convex topology on the set of bounded operators on a Hilbert space ''H'' induced by the seminorms of the form T\mapsto\, Tx\, , as ''x'' varies in ''H''. Equivalently, it is the coarsest topology such that, for each fixed ''x'' in ''H'', the evaluation map T\mapsto Tx (taking values in ''H'') is continuous in T. The equivalence of these two definitions can be seen by observing that a subbase for both topologies is given by the sets U(T_0,x,\epsilon) = \ (where ''T0'' is any bounded operator on ''H'', ''x'' is any vector and ε is any positive real number). In concrete terms, this means that T_i\to T in the strong operator topology if and only if \, T_ix-Tx\, \to 0 for each ''x'' in ''H''. The SOT is stronger than the weak operator topology and weaker than the norm topology. The SOT lacks some of the nicer properties that the weak operator topology has, but being ... Sodankylä Airfield
Sodankylä Airfield ( fi, Sodankylän lentokenttä; ) is an airfield in Sodankylä, Lapland, Finland, located south-east of Sodankylä municipal centre. The airfield was originally built in the early 1940s, initially as a stopover airfield for the flights to Petsamo. A gravel runway was built in 1971. The asphalt pavement and terminal building were completed in 1989, and there were scheduled flights in 1989–1996. There were some plans to build a new, longer runway to enable direct charter flights in the early 2000s. Sodankylä Airport was turned to an uncontrolled airfield on July 1, 2010. Today the airfield serves as a general aviation airfield. Sotho Language
Sotho () or Sesotho () or Southern Sotho is a Southern Bantu language of the Sotho–Tswana ("S.30") group, spoken primarily by the Basotho in Lesotho, where it is the national and official language; South Africa (particularly the Free State), where it is one of the 11 official languages; and in Zimbabwe where it is one of 16 official languages. Like all Bantu languages, Sesotho is an agglutinative language, which uses numerous affixes and derivational and inflexional rules to build complete words. Classification Sotho is a Southern Bantu language, belonging to the Niger–Congo language family within the Sotho-Tswana branch of Zone S (S.30). Although Southern Sotho shares the name ''Sotho'' with Northern Sotho, the two groups have less in common with each other than they have with Setswana. "Sotho" is also the name given to the entire Sotho-Tswana group, in which case Sesotho proper is called "Southern Sotho". Within the Sotho-Tswana group, Southern Sotho is most ... Special Occupational Taxpayers
Special Occupational Taxpayers are a group of Federal Firearm Licensees in the United States who manufacture, import and/or transfer NFA weapons. The National Firearms Act Special Occupational Taxpayer class is part of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. The Special Occupational Tax is due on or before July 1 of each year. The tax rate for every importer and manufacturer is $1,000 per year or part of a year. The tax rate for each dealer is $500 per year or part of a year. Importers and manufacturers engaged in business with less than $500,000 in gross receipts in the most recent taxable year are given relief in the form of a $500 reduction in SOT tax payment making the total SOT tax $500. In addition to the SOT tax, all importers and manufacturers must pay an annual Excise tax to the Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) for firearms imported or manufactured for re-sale. The excise tax applies only when the quantity of firearms imported or manufactured during the year is 50 or more. Special ... Gamasot
''Gamasot'' (), or simply ''sot'' (), is a big, heavy pot or cauldron used for Korean cooking. Origin The origins of the ‘sot’ originate in the "Chung" which is made of bronze. Researchers have speculated that copper would be easier to handle because it has a lower melting point than steel. Bronze ‘sot’ are frequently unearthed as remains of the Three Kingdoms period, because the meaning of 'Chung' was symbolic of the nation, the throne, and the industry. However, the history of iron ‘sot’ goes up to the Bronze Age much earlier than the Three Kingdoms period . The copper ‘sot’ on the Korean Peninsula were first discovered in the remains of Gojoson, which belongs to the late Bronze Age Korean copper sword culture period. A large amount of ‘sot’ is excavated from the ruins of the 'Hansa-gun' which was installed as the Gojoseon was destroyed by Han in 108 BC. In particular, the remains of ‘Nakrang-gun’ are famous for the largest number of pots among the fou ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
