Anhée ( ; wa, Anhêye) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Namur, Belgium. On 1 January 2006 the municipality had 6,934 inhabitants. The total area is 65.67 km2, giving a population density of 106 inhabitants per km2. Belgium is a federal state comprising three communities and three regions that are based on four language areas. The Kingdom of Belgium is divided into three regions. Two of these regions, Flanders and Wallonia, are each subdivided into five provinces. The third region, Brussels, does not belong to any province and nor is it subdivided into provinces. Instead, it has amalgamated both regional and provincial functions into a single "Capital Region" administration. Most of the provinces take their name from earlier duchies and counties of similar location, while their territory is mostly based on the departments installed during French annexation.
