Sassarese (natively or ; ) is an Italo-Dalmatian languages, Italo-Dalmatian language spoken in coastal areas of northeastern Sardinia, Italy. Closely related to Gallurese dialect, Gallurese and Corsican language, Corsican, it has its roots in medieval Tuscan dialect, Tuscan because of Sassari's historic ties with Tuscany and geographical proximity to Corsica, despite the robust Sardinian influences (in terms of vocabulary and phonology, as well as syntax). Due to its origins, Sassarese has several similarities to the Italian language. Sassarese is spoken by approximately 100,000 people, out of a total population of 175,000 in its area. Barisone III Of Torres
Barisone III (also ''Barison'' or ''Barusone''; 1221–1236) was briefly the Giudice of Logudoro from 1232 until his death. He was the only son of Marianus II, whom he succeeded. The nobility opposed to the Visconti family chose Orzocco de Serra as regent. Barisone was assassinated at Sorso by a peasant revolt instigated by the pro- Genoese faction of the nobility, the Doria and the Malaspina. According to Marianus' will, should Barisone die without and heir, the magnates of the realm should elect one of his sisters, either Adelasia or Benedetta.
