Sorin Iodi
Sorin Adrian Iodi (born 12 June 1976 in Sighetu Marmaţiei) is a Romanian former football player. Club career Iodi started his football career at Olimpia Satu Mare. He played 113 matches for this team and scored 5 goals. In 1999, he was transferred to Gloria Bistriţa. Iodi played just half of a season at Gloria and he was sold to Dinamo București with whom he won the champion title in the 1999–2000 season. In 2001, he was sent to Poiana Câmpina, which was at that time Dinamo's satellite team. He returned to Dinamo București in 2002. Iodi played 11 matches and he was loaned to FC Naţional București. Sorin Socol (born 30 November 1977 in Bucharest) is a Romanian retired rugby union player who played as a lock. He has won 61 caps for Romania. After being voted player of the tournament in the 1996 Under 21 Rugby World Championships where he captained Romania, Socol has played club rugby in France. He moved to France just prior to the tournament and studied business while playing for Brive. He played for Brive's top squad for seven years between 1996 and 2003. Socol made his international debut for Romania against Spain on 18 February 2001. At the beginning of the 2003/2004 season he moved to Agen where he played in the Top 14 and Heineken Cup. Sorin Nicușor Rădoi (born 30 June 1985) is a Romanian former professional footballer who played as a right back. Club career Rădoi's first club was Extensiv Craiova, where he made his debut in the Romanian Liga II in the 2002–03 season. He left Craiova for one of Bucharest's outsider teams, Sportul Studențesc, with whom he won promotion to the first league. Rădoi played 19 matches for Sportul in the 2004–05 Liga I season. Sorin Teodor Popa (24 March 1953) is a Romanian American mathematician working on operator algebras. He is a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles. Biography Popa earned his PhD from the University of Bucharest in 1983 under the supervision of Dan-Virgil Voiculescu, with thesis ''Studiul unor clase de subalgebre ale C^*-algebrelor''. He has advised 15 doctoral students at UCLA, including Adrian Ioana. Honors and awards In 1990 Popa was an invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) in Kyoto, where he gave a talk on "Subfactors and Classifications in von Neumann algebras". Sorin Ioan Paraschiv (born 17 June 1981) is a Romanian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Steaua București (1999–2007) After being a member of the Steaua Youth Academy, where Paraschiv started to play football in 1992, aged 11, in 1999, aged 18, he signed his first professional contract with Steaua. Sorin Mircea Oprescu (; born 7 November 1951) is a Romanian independent politician and medical doctor who previously served as Mayor of Bucharest between 2008 and 2015. Political activity Oprescu first ran for Mayor of Bucharest in 1998 backed by the Party of Social Democracy in Romania (PDSR), the precursor to the modern-day Social Democratic Party (PSD). Sorin Lerescu (November 14, 1953) was born in Craiova and is a Romanian composer who studied at the National University of Music Bucharest, National University of Music in Bucharest. Sorin Lavric (born 27 November 1967 in Turnu Severin, Socialist Republic of Romania) is a Romanian writer, philosopher and politician. Having started studying medicine in 1987, Lavric later began studying philosophy as well. Posteriorly, as he did not want to be a physician, he focused entirely on philosophy. Lavric finished his university studies in 1996 and obtained a doctorate in philosophy in 2005. Lavric has written several books. He has made in the past numerous comments that have been deemed as racist, homophobic and misogynistic that have provoked his expulsion from the Writers' Union of Romania. Despite this, he has affirmed that he is not a misogynist. Lavric eventually became a politician "to confront the corruption and political class of Romania".
