Sor Ye Ye
Sor Ye Ye is a 1968 musical film. The movie is a co-production between Spain and Mexico, starring Hilda Aguirre, Manuel Gil and Enrique Guzmán. The movie is loosely based on the novel '' La hermana San Sulpicio''. Plot María (Hilda Aguirre) is a young orphan woman who lives with her wealthy aunt (Margot Cottens). María enjoys singing in a nightclub with her friends, who have a rock band called "Los Yakis Voladores". Her friend Ernesto (Enrique Guzmán) is in love with her but she doesn't think she feels the same. In fact, her many existential questions and a strange emptiness she feels in her life suddenly compel her to enter a convent as a novice. This breaks Ernesto's heart and she isn't the best fit for a convent with her happy, open, rebellious nature. The headmistress tries to lead her in the right direction by chastising her. Enrique Guzmán
Enrique Guzmán (born February 1, 1943) is a Venezuelan-born Mexican singer and actor. He is one of the pioneers of Rock & Roll in Mexico, along with César Costa, Angélica María, Johnny Laboriel and Alberto Vasquez, among others. He is also the father of Mexican singer Alejandra Guzmán by his former wife, actress and singer Silvia Pinal. Life and career Enrique Guzmán was born in Venezuela to Mexican parents. They moved back to Mexico when Enrique was 7. He studied medicine at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México although he did not complete his studies. Guzmán has been a rock star in Mexico throughout the last half of the 20th century, known primarily for his translation of 1950s rock standards, such as " Jailhouse Rock", for Spanish-speaking listeners. In 1958 he joined "Los Teen Tops", along with the Martínez brothers and piano player, Sergio Martel. Sara García
Sara García Hidalgo (8 September 1895 – 21 November 1980) was a Mexican actress who made her biggest mark during the "Golden Age of Mexican cinema". During the 1940s and 1950s, she often played the part of a no-nonsense but lovable grandmother in numerous Mexican films. In later years, she played parts in Mexican telenovelas.
