Sophie Powles (born 16 September 1988) is an English actress, known for her role as Holly Barton in the ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale'' Career Powles has guest-starred in dramas such as ''Holby City'' and ''Dalziel and Pascoe'' before landing a role in the ITV drama series ''Britannia High''. Her character Ronnie was the only one of the main cast who was not a student at the fictional school of performing arts. Ronnie was created especially for Powles, as all the main cast were already in place. Cleethorpes () is a seaside town on the estuary of the Humber in North East Lincolnshire, England with a population of 38,372 in 2020. Northcliffe Media Ltd. (formerly Northcliffe Newspapers Group) was a large regional newspaper publisher in the UK and Central and Eastern Europe, owned by Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT). In 2012, the company was sold by DMGT to a newly formed company, Local World, which also bought Iliffe News and Media from the Yattendon Group. In October 2015, Trinity Mirror bought Local World. ''Britannia High'' is a British musical drama television series co-produced by Granada Television and Globe Productions for the ITV network. The series focused on the lives of a group of teenagers and their mentors at a fictional London theatre school. It aired on ITV and TV3 Ireland, premiering on 26 October 2008.
