Sophie Mallebranche (born 30 March 1976, in Honfleur, Calvados (department), Calvados) is a French people, French artist and textile designer known for her Weaving, woven metal materials that mix fibers and industrial materials. She is the creative director of Material Design Group, which produces and distributes her work. Architects and designers of international renown, such as Peter Marino, Robert A. M. Stern, Tony Chi, Jacques Grange, Gensler, Rena Dumas, Yabu Pushelberg and Flanagan Lawrence have used her designs. She has collaborated with brands such as Hermès, Christian Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Richard Mille, Chaumet, Piaget SA, Piaget, Mikimoto, and Guerlain. The Duperré School of Applied Arts is a public college of art and design. The school is located in the Rue Dupetit-Thouars, in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, near the Carreau du Temple, in the heart of Le Marais. Daum is a crystal studio based in Nancy, France, founded in 1878 by Jean Daum (1825–1885). His sons, Auguste Daum (1853–1909) and Antonin Daum (1864–1931), oversaw its growth during the burgeoning Art Nouveau period. Currently Daum is the only commercial crystal manufacturer employing the pâte de verre (glass paste) process for art glass and crystal sculptures, a technique in which crushed glass is packed into a refractory mould and then fused in a kiln.
