''Soorakottai Singakutti'' () is a 1983 Indian Tamil-language masala film, directed by Rama Narayanan for AVM Productions. The film stars Prabhu and Silk Smitha, with Vijayakumari, V. K. Ramaswami, Prameela and Gemini Ganesan in supporting roles. It was released on 9 September 1983. Plot Viswanathan, a happily married landlord befriends a dancer. Later she shows her true colours, separates him from his wife and marries him. Meanwhile, Selvam, a vibrant youth hears from his mother about his past and vows to avenge the person who caused injustice to his family. How he manages to do it, is the rest of the story. Rama Narayanan
Rama Narayanan (3 April 1949 – 22 June 2014) was an Indian film director and producer. In the 1980s, he was known as a director who specialized in shooting commercial films in which animals played vital roles, while in the 1990s, several of his films were based on Hindu devotional subjects. He has also headed the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) for three consecutive elections, before resigning in 2011. He died on 22 June 2014 at a Singapore hospital due to kidney-related ailments. Career Narayanan came to Chennai intending to become a songwriter, but he became a dialogue writer for films. He and his friend M. A. Khaja started to write dialogues together under the pen name Ram-Rahim. In 1976, Narayanan wrote his first story, screenplay and dialogue for the film ''Aasai Arubadhu Naal''. Vasudevan (15 June 1944 – 20 February 2011), known as Malaysia Vasudevan, was a Malaysian-Indian playback singer and actor in Tamil cinema. Early life Malaysia Vasudevan's parents were from Palakkad. Chattu Nair of Ottappalam and Ammalu of Polpulli, along with their families migrated to British Malaya in search of a livelihood. After a few years, Chattu Nair married Ammalu in an arranged marriage. Vasudevan was born on 15 June 1944 as their eighth and youngest child.
