Sonoma Mountains
The Sonoma Mountains are a northwest–southeast trending mountain range of the Inner Coast Ranges in the California Coast Ranges System, located in Sonoma County, Northern California. Geography The Sonoma Mountains range is approximately long. It separates the Sonoma Creek watershed from the Petaluma River and Tolay Creek watersheds. The highest point of this range is Sonoma Mountain, elevation . Jack London State Historic Park, Crane Creek Regional Park, and the Fairfield Osborn Preserve are both on Sonoma Mountain. Carriger Creek is a stream Sonoma County, California. Southwest of the city of Sonoma, California, its name changes to Fowler Creek. This article covers both parts of the creek. Carriger Creek springs from the eastern slope of Sonoma Mountain, southwest of Glen Ellen. It flows southwest through a canyon that opens west of El Verano. Jenner, also known as Jenner-by-the-Sea, is a small coastal town and census-designated place (CDP) in Sonoma County, California, U.S. with a population of about 122 per the 2020 census. It is located on the Pacific coast near the mouth of the Russian River. State Route 1 runs through the town and State Route 116 runs nearby, along the Russian River. Immediately south of Jenner is Goat Rock Beach, a unit within the Sonoma Coast State Beach. History Historically, Jenner was part of the Rancho Muniz. The town’s namesake, Dr. Elijah K.
