Songs (Rich Mullins Album)
''Songs'' is a compilation of well-known songs by American singer-songwriter Rich Mullins, released on July 30, 1996. It was the last album to be released by Mullins before his death in a car accident on September 19, 1997. A follow-up hits compilation, '' Songs 2'', was released in 1999. The album featured three new recordings: new versions of the previously recorded songs "Sing Your Praise to the Lord" and "Elijah", and a brand new track, "We Are Not as Strong as We Think We Are". In addition, the album featured the full-length radio single version of "Screen Door", which had been commercially unavailable prior to this release. Richard Wayne Mullins (October 21, 1955 – September 19, 1997) was an American contemporary Christian music singer and songwriter best known for his worship songs " Awesome God" and "Sometimes by Step". Some of his albums were listed by ''CCM Magazine'' in their ranking of the 100 Greatest Albums in Christian Music, including ''A Liturgy, a Legacy, & a Ragamuffin Band'' (1993) at No. 3, '' The World As Best As I Remember It, Volume One'' (1991) at No. 7, and ''Winds of Heaven, Stuff of Earth'' (1988) at No. 31. Chris McHugh
Chris McHugh (born 1964) is an American musician. He began his career as the drummer of Christian rock band White Heart from 1986 to 1989. He also worked in the recording of several of their later albums. Chris McHugh is on the Nashville "A" list of session drummers. His recording credits span over 20 years with the top gold and platinum artists of the music industry. He has toured with Amy Grant and Garth Brooks. McHugh has toured as Music Director/drummer for Keith Urban and has been the session drummer for all six of Urban's studio albums. Kenny Greenberg
Kenneth S. "Kenny" Greenberg is an American guitarist, songwriter, producer, and session musician. He is known for bringing a rock-and-roll sensibility to Nashville recording sessions. Biography Greenberg was born in Cleveland, Ohio but attended junior high and high school in Louisville, Kentucky. He moved to Nashville at age 21 to play guitar professionally, initially playing on demos and then recording sessions. Tony Brown was instrumental in helping Greenberg break into production and session work. ''Pictures in the Sky'' is the second solo album by songwriter Rich Mullins and was released in 1987 on Reunion Records. The single "Screen Door" became a concert favorite. Mullins wrote the song in Chattanooga on a trip to Knoxville, originally intending it to write a limerick. When performing "Screen Door" in concert, Mullins and his band would sing the lyrics and create the song's unique rhythm by hitting plastic cups on a table in a synchronized pattern.
