Something Special (Sabrina Album)
''Something Special'' is the first remix album by Italian singer Sabrina. It was released in 1988 for the Scandinavian market only. Album information Mega Records of Copenhagen, Denmark released unique remix and/or compilation releases by several well-known pop/dance-artists in the late 1980s. After the releases of the singles "All of Me (Boy Oh Boy)" and "My Chico", but before the release of Sabrina's second studio album, Mega issued a compilation of remixes of Sabrina's songs issued until then. Several of these mixes are unique (Extended Versions of "My Sharona" and " Lady Marmalade"), while others are rare (The PWL-Remix of "My Chico"). The vinyl LP was released as a picture-disc in a gatefold-sleeve, accompanied by a poster, and the CD featured six bonus-tracks. Italo Disco
Italo disco (variously capitalized, and sometimes hyphenated as Italo-disco) is a music genre which originated in Italy in the late 1970s and was mainly produced in the early 1980s. Italo disco evolved from the then-current underground dance, pop, and electronic music, both domestic and foreign (American hi-NRG, French Euro disco) and developed into a diverse genre. The genre employs electronic drums, drum machines, synthesizers, and occasionally vocoders. It is usually sung in English, and to a lesser extent in Italian and Spanish. Stock Aitken Waterman (abbreviated as SAW) are an English songwriting and record production trio consisting of Mike Stock, Matt Aitken, and Pete Waterman. The trio had great success from the mid-1980s through the early 1990s. SAW is considered one of the most successful songwriting and producing partnerships of all time, scoring more than 100 UK top 40 hits, selling 40 million records and earning an estimated £60 million (about $104 million). SAW started producing underground club hits, but earned worldwide success with a mix of hi-NRG-influenced sound, romantic Motown lyrics and Italo disco melodies. ''Super Sabrina'' is the second studio album by Italian pop singer Sabrina, released in 1988 (and in some countries in 1989) by Videogram. Album information 1988 saw the release of Sabrina's second album, titled ''Super Sabrina'', in Italy, France and Denmark; and in 1989 in other countries. The standard format at the time was still the vinyl LP, with Italy adding a bonus in the form of a picture disc (using the picture as the standard LP). While all countries used the same picture-sleeve design, the track listings were quite different.
