"Something Just Like This" is a song by American electronic music duo The Chainsmokers and British rock band Coldplay. It was released on February 22, 2017, as the second single from The Chainsmokers debut album, '' Memories...Do Not Open'', and as the lead single from Coldplay's ''Kaleidoscope EP''. The song samples their 2015 hit single "Roses" featuring American songwriter Rozes. The single reached the top ten of many charts around the world, including number 2 in the UK Singles Chart and the Australian ARIA chart, and number 3 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. The Chainsmokers are an American electronic DJ and production duo consisting of Alexander "Alex" Pall and Andrew "Drew" Taggart. They started out by releasing remixes of songs by indie artists. The Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance is an award presented at the Grammy Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1958 and originally called the Gramophone Awards. According to the 63rd Grammy Awards category rules, "this category recognizes artistic excellence in a duo, group, or collaborative vocal or instrumental pop performance. Elizabeth Mencel (born April 14, 1993), better known by her stage name Rozes (stylized as ROZES or R O Z E S), is an American musician, singer and songwriter from Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania. She is best known for her 2015 collaboration, "Roses", with duo The Chainsmokers. She also featured in Galantis' song " Girls on Boys". Early years A native of Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania, Mencel grew up in a gospel-influenced home and first studied piano at age six. Eventually she also became proficient in clarinet, saxophone, guitar, violin, flute, and trumpet. Mencel first started her musical career at North Penn High School. Soon after, she earned an associate degree from Montgomery County Community College and then transferred to Temple University in Philadelphia. After one year at Temple, Mencel chose to pursue music as a full-time career and left college.
