Solčany
Solčany ( hu, Szolcsány) is a municipality in the Topoľčany District of the Nitra Region, Slovakia. Solčany Village is the center of the municipality. In 2011 it had 2467 inhabitants. It has good shopping networks, small health centers, sport clubs and sport facilities. Solčany is also the birthplace of known footballers, Anton Ondruš and Anton Švajlen. Anton Ondruš
Anton Ondruš (born 27 March 1950 in Solčany, Czechoslovakia) is a former Slovak football player and considered one of the best defenders of the seventies. Early club career He started to play regularly for Slovan Bratislava in the fall of 1970. With this club, he won the Czechoslovak League in 1974 and 1975, and he later become the captain of this team, playing in total in 210 matches and scoring 38 goals. The team won the Czechoslovak Cup in 1974. International career Ondruš played 58 matches for Czechoslovakia and scored 9 goals. As a captain, he led the national team in the 1976 UEFA European Championship. His superb performance against Cruyff's Netherlands in semi-finals where he scored twice (one own goal) opened his team the door to the final match where Czechoslovakia won the gold medal in the famous Belgrade Night game against the then world champion West Germany. Topoľčany District
Topoľčany District (''okres Topoľčany'') is a district in the Nitra Region of western Slovakia. It borders Nové Mesto nad Váhom District and Bánovce nad Bebravou District in the north, Piešťany District and Hlohovec District in the west, Partizánske District in the east and Nitra District and Zlaté Moravce District in the south. Anton Švajlen
Anton Švajlen (born 3 December 1937) is a Slovak former football goalkeeper who played over 300 games in the Czechoslovak First League for VSS Košice between 1959 and 1975. He competed for Czechoslovakia at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo where he won a silver medal in the team competition. Švajlen played five matches for the Czechoslovakia Olympic Team (one at the 1964 Olympics) and three matches for the Czechoslovakia national football B team, but he never played for the first team. During his 14 seasons at the Czechoslovak First League he made 336 appearances (214 without substitution). Švajlen was also known as penalty taker. He scored 11 league goals during his club career, all penalties, including five in the 1964–65 Czechoslovak First League. Nitra Region
The Nitra Region ( sk, Nitriansky kraj, ; hu, Nyitrai kerület) is one of the administrative regions of Slovakia. It was first established in 1923 and from 1996 exists in its present borders. It consists of seven districts ( sk, okres) and 354 municipalities, from which 16 have a town status. The economy of the region focuses more on agriculture, than in other Slovak regions. Slovak Car Registration Plates
Vehicles registered in Slovakia are generally assigned to one of the districts ('' okres'') and since 1997, the licence plate coding ( sk, EČV, evidenčné číslo vozidla) generally consists of seven characters and takes the form XX-NNNLL, where XX is a two letter code corresponding to the district, NNN is three digit number and LL are two letters (assigned alphabetically). Appearance There are three design varieties that are in valid use. * Between 1 April 1997 and 30 April 2004, the plates contained the Coat of Arms of Slovakia in the top left corner and the country code SK in the bottom left.
