Solid State Society
is a 2006 science fiction anime film and part of the '' Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex'' series based on Masamune Shirow's manga ''Ghost in the Shell''. It was produced by Production I.G and directed by Kenji Kamiyama. The film is set in 2034, two years after the events of '' 2nd GIG''. Togusa is now the team leader for Public Security Section 9, which has increased considerably in size. Section 9 deals with a series of complicated incidents, including the assassination of Ka Rum, a former dictator of the Siak Republic, which leads to a terrorist plot using children as vectors for a cybernetic virus. Investigations reveal that a hacker nicknamed "The Puppeteer" is behind the entire series of events. Rhizome (philosophy)
A rhizome is a concept in post-structuralism describing a nonlinear network that "connects any point to any other point". It appears in the work of French theorists Deleuze and Guattari, who used the term in their book ''A Thousand Plateaus'' to refer to networks that establish "connections between semiotic chains, organizations of power, and circumstances relative to the arts, sciences and social struggles" with no apparent order or coherency. Batou
is a main male character in Masamune Shirow's ''Ghost in the Shell'' series. He is the second-best melee fighter in Section 9,Official Log 1, page 23. and is the second in command under Major Motoko Kusanagi. He is a battle-hardened cyborg special operative with a long distinguished military career and a no-nonsense attitude. In the franchise, its jurisdiction exists under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Ministry of Internal Affairs. In some translations, the name is given as Public Safety Section 9.
