Sola (Sierra De Cubitas)
Sola is a Cuban town and ''consejo popular'' ("people's council") of the municipality of Sierra de Cubitas, in Camagüey Province.With a population (2011) of about 10,000, it is the largest settlement of its municipality, including the seat town of Cubitas. History Founded on September 28, 1920, it was originally part of Camagüey municipality until the 1977 administrative reform, when it became part of the new municipality of Sierra de Cubitas, whose seat, Cubitas, was founded in the end of 1976. Geography Located on a wide rural plain, few km south of the Atlantic Coast and the island of Cayo Guajaba, Sola is divided into a pair of circumscriptions named "Sola 1" and "Sola 2". It is 8 km from La Gloria, 10 from Cubitas, 18 from Senado, 25 from Minas, 30 from Lugareño, 37 from Brasil, 50 from Nuevitas, 51 from Esmeralda and 60 from Camagüey city centre. Morón, Cuba
Morón is a city and a municipality in Ciego de Ávila Province in central Cuba. It is one of ten municipalities in the province, and is the second in importance and the oldest. Morón is the closest city to the tourist resorts on Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo. Camajuaní
Camajuaní is a municipality and town in the Villa Clara Province of Cuba. History In 1819 was decided the construction of a new port in near Caibarién to replace an old one located in Tesisco. From that moment, settlers established in the surroundings creating a new village. In 1832 blueprints for the new town of Caibarien were presented, and finally in 1841 this city was founded. Consequently, in 1864 an extension of the railway was planned in order to bring the sugar from the Camajuani valley to Caibarien and a new settlement began near the train station. Nuevitas
Nuevitas is a municipality and port town in the Camagüey Province of Cuba. The large bay was sighted by Christopher Columbus in 1492. History Founded in 1775, the city was moved to its present site in 1828. Before the 1977 national municipal reform, Nuevitas was divided into the barrios of Primero, Segundo, Tercero, Alvaro Reinoso, Lugareño, Redención, San Miguel and Senado. Geography Nuevitas is located on the Guincho peninsula on the north coast, and borders with the municipalities of Guáimaro, Minas, Manatí (in Las Tunas Province) and Morón (in Ciego de Ávila Province).
