General Soe Win ( my, စိုးဝင်း; ; 10 May 1947 – 12 October 2007) was the Prime Minister of Burma and Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council from 2004 to 2007. Soe Win ( my, စိုးဝင်း; ; born 1 March 1961) is a Burmese army general and current Deputy Prime Minister of Myanmar following the formation of the caretaker government on 1 August 2021. He also serves as vice chairman of the State Administration Council, deputy commander-in-chief of the Tatmadaw (Myanmar armed forces) and commander-in-chief of the Myanmar Army. He is also a member of Myanmar's National Defence and Security Council. Soe Win ( my, စိုးဝင်း ; born 13 December 1938) is the former Minister for Planning and Finance of Myanmar (Burma). He is a financial professional and previously served as the managing partner of Deloitte in Myanmar. Early life and education Soe Win was born in Moulmein, British Burma (now Mawlamyaing, Myanmar) on 13 December 1938 to parents U Tin and Daw Ngwe Pwint. He possesses BA, LLB and DMA qualifications. ''Maha Chandra Kumara'' Soe Win ( my, မဟာစန္ဒြကုမာရစိုးဝင်း; born 15 January 1948) is a retired Burmese diplomat, prince and senior male member of the Royal House of Konbaung as the Pretender to the Throne of Burma (abolished in 1885) since 2019. Soe Win ( my, စိုးဝင်း; 1961 – 25 July 2020), also known as U Soe, was the bodyguard and close confidant of the State Counsellor of Myanmar Aung San Suu Kyi.
