Soe Win (MP)
Soe Win ( my, စိုးဝင်း , born 22 October 1957) is a Burmese politician and former political prisoner who currently serves as an Amyotha Hluttaw MP for Rakhine State No. 12 constituency. He is a member of National League for Democracy. Early life and education He was born on 22 October 1957 in Gwa, Rakhine State, Burma(Myanmar). He graduated with B.A. (Philosophy) from Yangon University. He was joined NLD at 1989 and served responsibilities of township and state. And then, He was involved in ''NLD Central Affairs Committee Responsibilities'', ''Youth Reading Clubs'' and ''Religious Organizations''. In 1974, Soe Win was arrested and sentenced to seven years prison because he was involved in the U Thant uprising of poster campaign at Gwa Township. After four months, he was freed by appeal. Amyotha Hluttaw
The Amyotha Hluttaw ( my, အမျိုးသားလွှတ်တော်, ; House of Nationalities) is the ''de jure'' upper house of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, the bicameral legislature of Myanmar (Burma). It consists of 224 members, of whom 168 are directly elected and 56 appointed by the Myanmar Armed Forces. The last elections to the Amyotha Hluttaw were held in November 2015. At its second meeting on 3 February 2016, Mahn Win Khaing Than and Aye Thar Aung were elected Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw and Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw as a whole. Rakhine State
Rakhine State (; , , ; formerly known as Arakan State) is a Administrative divisions of Myanmar, state in Myanmar (Burma). Situated on the western coast, it is bordered by Chin State to the north, Magway Region, Bago Region and Ayeyarwady Region to the east, the Bay of Bengal to the west and the Chittagong Division of Bangladesh to the northwest. Gwa ( my, ဂွမြို့) is a town located at the southern tip of Myanmar's Rakhine State. It is the principal town of Gwa Township. Rakhine People
The Rakhine people ( my, ရက္ခိုင်လူမျိုး, : , ), also known as the Arakanese people, are a Southeast Asian ethnic group in Myanmar (Burma) forming the majority along the coastal region of present-day Rakhine State (formerly officially called Arakan), although Rakhine communities also exist throughout the country, particularly in Ayeyarwady and Yangon Regions.
