The French Operations Research & Decision Support Society (in French: Société française de Recherche Opérationnelle et d’Aide à la Décision - ROADEF) is a professional non-profit society that aims to promote the scientific field of Operations Research (OR) and Decision Support (DS) in France. The society is a member of the European umbrella organization, the Association of European Operational Research Societies (EURO), and of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS). History The society was created in 1998. Its mission is to encourage the development of operational research and decision support in France, to disseminate OR/DS knowledge and practices in industry, and to promote their teaching in education. The Association of European Operational Research Societies (EURO) is a regional grouping within the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS) whose aim is to promote Operational Research throughout Europe. It was established in 1975. Overview EURO is a nonprofit organization domiciled in Switzerland. It aims at the advancement of knowledge, interest and education in Operational Research by appropriate means, particularly by the exchange of information, the holding of meetings and conferences, the publication of books, papers, and journals, the awarding of prizes, and the promotion of early stage talents. Belgian Society For Operations Research
The Belgian Society for Operations Research (ORBEL) is the professional non-profit society for the scientific field of Operations Research in Belgium. The society is recognized by the International Federation of Operational Research Societies and its subgrouping, the Association of European Operational Research Societies, as the main national society for Operations Research in its country. ORBEL was created in 1961 with the aim of promoting the development of Operations Research and Mathematical Programming in Belgium, both from a methodological point and an applied research point of views.
