Sochiapa is a municipality located in the central zone of the Mexican State of Veracruz, about 40 km from the state capital Xalapa. It has a surface of 21.39 km2. It is located at .For decree of December 10, 1913 suprimió Sochiapa's municipality, passing its territory to form a part of that of Totutla; Later Sochiapa recovered its political category. Geography The municipality of Sochiapa is delimited to the north and northeast by Totutla, to the southeast by Comapa, to the south by Huatusco and to the west by Tlaltetela. It is watered by small creeks which are tributaries of the Jamapa River. The weather in Sochiapa is cold and wet all year with rains in summer and autumn. Comapa (from Nahuatl ''Komapan'', "in the river of pots") is a municipality in the Mexican state of Veracruz, located about south of the state capital Xalapa. Geography The municipality of Comapa is located in the Gulf of Mexico lowlands of central Veracruz. It borders the municipalities of Puente Nacional and Tlacotepec de MejÃa to the north, Totutla to the northwest, Sochiapa to the west, Huatusco to the southwest, Zentla to the south, Soledad de Doblado to the southeast, and Paso de Ovejas to the northeast. Xalapa
Xalapa or Jalapa (, ), officially Xalapa-EnrÃquez (), is the capital city of the Mexican state of Veracruz and the name of the surrounding municipality. In the 2005 census the city reported a population of 387,879 and the municipality of which it serves as municipal seat reported a population of 413,136. The municipality has an area of 118.45 km2. Huatusco (municipality)
Huatusco de Chicuellar (commonly known as Huatusco), is a city in the Mexican state of Veracruz, on the Xalapa–Mexico City railroad that was founded by Italian immigrants. It is bordered by Calcahualco, the state of Puebla, Ixhuatlán del Café and Federal Highway 180. The oldest church in Huatusco is dedicated to San Antonio de Padua with a height of approximately 20 meters. A nearby hill, called "Cerro de Guadalupe" has a church on top of it, where every year on December 11 and 12 catholic people hold religious festivities. In these days, the priest celebrates with a mass; and after that, people stay around the hill to have a picnic. Economic activities in Huatusco include growing coffee, sugar cane and several fruits. Huatusco is a small quiet town during the week. Tlaltetela
Tlaltetela is a municipality located in the montane central zone in the State of Veracruz, about 25 km from state capital Xalapa. It has a surface of 266.50 km2. It is located at . The name comes from the Náhuatl language tlal- (land) and tetl (rocks). It was formerly called Axocuapan (from Nahuatl Atl-Xoxoc-Apan, meaning “in the acid water". By the decree 373 of May 8, 1979, Axocuapan was renamed Tlaltetela. In 1998, the first recreational park and the municipal library were opened.
