''Sobre Todas as Forças'' is the third album by Brazilian reggae band Cidade Negra, released in 1994. The track "Onde Você Mora" was requested by producer Liminha to Nando Reis. Reis then showed two different songs to co-songwriter Marisa Monte Marisa de Azevedo Monte (Brazilian Portuguese: /maˈɾizɐ dʒi azeˈvedu ˈmõtʃi/) (born 1 July 1967) is a Brazilian singer, composer, instrumentalist, and producer of Brazilian popular music and samba. As of 2011, she had sold 10 milli ... and she suggested he joined them. The section beginning with "Cê vai chegar em casa..." was then added to the rest of the song. When he presented the song to Liminha and the band, Reis thought they were unimpressed, but Liminha later called him and told him he heard his little daughter, who was in the studio when Reis played the song, humming the song and saying it was beautiful. Reggae () is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1960s. The term also denotes the modern popular music of Jamaica and its diaspora. Cidade Negra ( pt, Black City) is a Brazilian reggae band formed in 1986 in Rio de Janeiro. Their style is influenced by soul and rock music. Common themes of Cidade Negra songs include love and social issues. History The band reached success in 1991, with the album ''Lute pra Viver'' (Fight to Live), including the radio hit "Falar a Verdade". Ras Bernardo was the first vocalist. Garrido at the time was the vocalist of Banda Bel. He entered in Cidade Negra after their second album, in 1993. Arnolpho Lima Filho (born 5 May 1951 in São Paulo), known as Liminha, is a Brazilian musician and producer. He started his career as the bassist of "Os Baobás", and was called in 1970 to tour with Os Mutantes, becoming an official member later. In 1974, he left the group to start his producing career. Nando Reis (, born José Fernando Gomes dos Reis; January 12, 1963) is a Brazilian musician and producer, best known as the former bassist and one of the lead singers of Brazilian rock band Titãs and for his successful solo career, with his own band called Os Infernais. He has also produced a few albums, including some related to Cássia Eller, who has made several significant partnerships with him, and Marisa Monte.
