Snow Dome, Chaprot
Snow Dome is a mountain in the Karakoram range in the Chaprot Pass region of Gilgit–Baltistan of Pakistan. It lies to the southeast of Daintar Pass and north of Mehrbani Peak (5,639 m) which is in the Naltar Valley. Another peak, near Concordia, is also called Snow Dome, thought the one near Concordia is significantly higher at 7,150 m. Pakistan is home to 108 peaks above 7,000 metres and 4555 above 6,000 m. There is no count of the peaks above 5,000 and 4,000 m. Five of the 14 highest independent peaks in the world (the eight-thousanders) are in Pakistan (four of which lie in the surroundings of Concordia; the confluence of Baltoro Glacier and Godwin Austen Glacier). Most of the highest peaks in Pakistan lie in the Karakoram mountain range (which lies almost entirely in the Gilgit–Baltistan region of Pakistan, and is considered to be a separate range from Himalayan range) but some peaks above 7,000 m are included in the Himalayan and Hindu Kush ranges. The Karakoram is a mountain range in Kashmir region spanning the borders of Pakistan, China, and India, with the northwest extremity of the range extending to Afghanistan and Tajikistan. Most of the Karakoram mountain range falls under the jurisdiction of Gilgit-Baltistan, which is controlled by Pakistan. Naltar Valley
The Naltar Valley () is a valley situated about from the city of Gilgit in Gilgit-Baltistan, Gilgit−Baltistan, Pakistan. Concordia, Pakistan
Concordia ( ur, کونکورڈیا) is the confluence of the Baltoro Glacier and the Godwin-Austen Glacier in the Karakoram mountain range of Pakistan. It is located in the Baltistan region of Pakistan, at above sea level. The area is often used as a base camp for mountaineering expeditions on K2 and other nearby peaks, and is also a popular destination for trekkers and backpackers.
