Snapshot (photography)
A snapshot is a photograph that is "shot" spontaneously and quickly, most often without artistic or journalistic intent and usually made with a relatively cheap and compact camera. Common snapshot subjects include the events of everyday life, often portraying family members, friends, pets, children playing, birthday parties and other celebrations, sunsets, tourist attractions and the like. Snapshots can be technically "imperfect" or amateurish: poorly framed or composed, out of focus, and/or inappropriately lighted by flash. Automated settings in consumer cameras have helped to obtain a technologically balanced quality in snapshots. Use of such settings can reveal the lack of expert choices that would entail more control of the focus point and shallower depth of field to achieve more pleasing images by making the subject stand out against a blurred background. Brandon Winn Sanderson (born December 19, 1975) is an American author of high fantasy and science fiction. ''Snapshot'' is a platform game developed by Retro Affect and released on 30 August 2012 for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. Gameplay The player controls a character with fairly standard 2-D controls: left, right, duck, and jump. The player also controls a camera viewfinder, the Snapshot of the title, with the mouse. When a snapshot is taken of an in-game object, it disappears from the gameworld and is stored on the camera; the stored images can then be pasted into new parts of the gameworld to overcome an obstacle. The objects and elements that can be captured have a wide range of different properties or utilities, such as elephants that serve as walking springboards or gusts of wind that can push the player across long gaps. ''Snapshots'', Eleanor McEvoy's third studio album, was released in 1999. McEvoy's primary goal was to make ''Snapshots'' her most song-oriented album to date. Toward that goal, McEvoy hooked up with producer Rupert Hine (who worked with Stevie Nicks, Tina Turner, Suzanne Vega, and Duncan Sheik). The extensive use of drum loops on the album was a complete change in style from McEvoy's previous work. This is McEvoy's only album on which she does not play violin. Before the overdub sessions, she was attacked whilst walking down the street on the way home from the studio and her hand broken, although she recovered completely.
